Ian Kuah Review - First Pictures of Yellow GT3 etc
Dr Ian Kuah is one of the more respected Porsche journos. Hes been around a long time and held in high regard.
Here he brings to bear some additional details which are interesting on the new GT3 as well as possible insight into what we may see on the 991 GT3 RS (lightened flywheel?).
Great article and pictures and our first look at Racing Yellow...

P.S. A re-post from the awesome Rennteam

Man. When I watch that video, I have 100% confidence that PDK-S is where it's at (and I LOVE to shift a manual). It's just time to move on for performance sake, and keep a manual car in the garage for reminiscing.
BTW - I don't have the cojones to pull off that yellow

My wife too. I prefer the old Speed Yellow I had on my 6GT3 tho but a long shot.
In the article he gives away a little detail we havent seen before. I believe the "lighter flywheel" comment is an indication as to what we may see in the new 991 GT3 RS. No one yet has complained about the flywheel needing to be lighter so my guess is hes had some inside information from the engineers during the presentation and perhaps this is his way of introducing the idea. I dont believe they will hange the capacity of the engine and I think playing with the ratios will be difficult in teh RS now there are 7 so perhaps small fettling like software and a flywheel is pointing to teh direction with which the factory will help differentiate the two models. Im not sure it will lead to any improved times but it may well give the car a slightly different feel...
Like most he talks about a strong desire to get this car on the track and I believe this is where the car will REALLY start to convince many of the naysayers. My sources tell me this is a phenominally quick car on a shortish track and 10 laps will convince you your old GT3 is no longer the trackmeister you may have thought it was (although neither is my 993 buts its a lot of fun going slow too!).

Don't know if anybody else noticed..
On the test car, wheels appear to be our first look at the silver option which I ordered and was hoping they would be close in color to the GT silver used in the last 2 gens.
I'm happy with what I see...

You might be right JCL59, but I think that's just the light flashing off the moving wheels in some of the shots. Here's a close-up from the article. You be the judge.

stock wheel finish IMO.
My 997 GT3 was speed yellow and I loved it. Lots of peeps complain about the new yellow. I think it looks great too! f'ing ridiculous. Doing red this time just cause I want to tone things down a lil. LOL.
LOVED the violent upshifts. Reminds me of my mistress.
