Tell that to MB. They are going with AWD on their latest E class AMG!

I have posted this photo before which according to my 'sources' at Zuffenhausen is exactly what Porsche designers were trying to copy. Did they missed their mark?

If the RS gets the bladder splitter thing (please don't let it have "RS" printed on it ... who the hell is on the design team willing to say "no" to all the tacky labels they stick on the 911?) or active aero, that's all fine. I think we (buyers/drivers) have to concede that Porsche is on a bent of features and technology, not "add lightness." For all the weight and hefty price, where's that rumored triple turbo?

The wider, the better. Bring on the RSR bodied road car. No, not really, but I see no problem in the extra girth of the 1.1 inches added to the hips of the turbo cars, just do it in painted CF and cut the curb weight.

The only criticism I have so far for the turbo is the curb weight.

When I saw the announcement of the turbo and turbo S simultaneously, the vane thought popped into my head that there could be a 2WD turbo again. Oh well.
+1. The wider the better. Not loving the pdk but that's a whole other discussion.

Tell that to the lambo guys:

For me, I only want it as wide as it needs to be. Diminishing returns and all...

This is what I like about the old Porsches - it is the "right" kind of wide - only the fenders is wide (to accomodate wider tires obviously). It is like someone stuck a powerful vacum and sucked all the air out and the body is now hugging the mechanicals underneath vs the new Turbo that has bulges in all the wrong places like the pic Eduardo posted.

Hi all,

I just placed my order for a Guards Red Gt3(no allocations yet, but they got their 991 TT allocations yesterday and I am #2 on GT3 list)
I was curious about the 90L fuel tank option...I will probably track it 5 times a year (Watkins Glen, Mosport), at least initially....can some of you GT3 folks give me the pro's and (more importantly) con's of the 90L tank no-cost option?

thanks,
911 convert

P.S. I posted over on teamspeed also

I don't know that there are actually any cons. It's no-cost, the weight difference of the tank itself negligible (IIRC about 1kg) and it doesn't intrude on the frunk in any way. Seems like a no-brainer to me to get the added range for trips.

Looks rather weird i reckon. What happened to the "coke bottle" lines...?
What color is that on the far left?

Um, I agree on the 991 TT looks but....

Bulges in all the WRONG places?

Clearly we are not looking at the same picture, the one I see seems to fit your description perfectly, body hugging the mechanicals.

To each his own I guess.

Drove a manual 991 4S last week at Tremblant, and when you put it in "sport plus", the thing auto-blips on down-shifts. It heel-and-toes by itself.... and rev-matches PERFECT-FOOKING-LY. This is unbelievable and eery. One could develop bad habits and get lazy very quickly.

On the other hand, it would be a great tool to teach a student what h&t should feel like. Get them to drive this thing, and then send them out to practice in their car.
