WTB/FS: 991.2 Touring GT3

Three Wheelin'
Low mile racing yellow with blk pkg would be a very interesting example to see where the mkt is. His best shot is probably still bat. Hard to imagine someone is willing to pay the 275 ask but in an auction anything could happen.

Here is a site I use to track the market, does't hit all for sale, but quite a few..
https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/91...12/gt3/touring
You can track nearly any car/model/year, etc. And sends you alerts on when one comes up :-)

991.2 Toruing to 992
I have a 991.2 touring that have been considering trading for a 992 in few months. I’m curious to see how the market shakes out. Great cars either way!
#20
As a result, I ended up buying another 2019 Touring which is probably what a lot of people are doing. Now that production is over and everyone is waiting for the 992.2 Tourings, I would tend to guess that the 991.2 Touring market will stabilize or go up.
On a side note. I loved my 997.1 GT3 styling, more than the 997.2. I also preferred my GT3 991.1 styling more than the 991.2. Will the 992.1 styling be more to my liking than the 992.2? Obviously the 991R is the perfect blend…

It's hard to see how you justify the 991.2 tourings getting past ~$220-240K, if even there, frankly, unless maybe super low miles, PTS, high MSRP build. It's a splendid car -- I know, I owned a 991.2 GT3 -- but there should be a healthy spread relative to the 992, which is a newer and, strictly in terms of driving capabilities, an objectively superior car. Some of the talk about $250K+ values seems misguided to me -- not far off what I just paid for a delivery-miles 992 GT3T that is a high MSRP build with all the goodies (PTS, LWBS, PCCB, etc.). Don't get me wrong, these are very nice cars, but they're not exactly limited production or special edition cars that have an investment angle, and there's a ton of new stuff that recently hit the market (e.g. GT3, GT3RS, SC) or is forthcoming (e.g. S/T) that isn't in small quantities, either.

Whether there "should" be a spread between the 992 and 991.2 is also irrelevant. The market indicates a healthy contingent of buyers who simply prefer the overall package of the 991.2 Touring - looks, feel, character. Personally, the looks and overall size of the car was what skewed me to the 991.2 Touring over the 992 Touring.
There is very little justification needed otherwise - the Touring has had stable values well beyond $220k for some time now and has appreciated in value over the past year so it is what it is.

The market does not agree. These aren't numbered cars, but they were limited in absolute volume. Something being "objectively superior" doesn't count for much when we're talking about a street car. Objectively, none of these cars can be taxed to their limits, regardless. One can prefer the 992 to the 991.2, but that's simply preference.

A 992 GT3 would have to be a special build - PTS and loaded for me to consider moving from my car and even then I’m not sure. I went through this exercise recently and ultimately short of getting a PTS 992 for a steal I just wasn’t interested. In hindsight, I’m even less so.
A 992 Touring I have zero interest, no offense to 992 Touring owners.
$50k delta is very generous IMO

I’ll give you the example of myself to start. I have tested the market and a winged GT3 with equivalent spec and miles is closing in on 1:1 on a private sale and probably $10-20k with trade. At this point I would not take that swap.

Chris Harris never owned one I don’t think… he really wanted one and then cried about it when Porsche wouldn’t give him an allocation. Haha
also, the double wishbone and ITBs are game changers
