also, the double wishbone and ITBs are game changers
Yes, 100%. Sorry to be blunt about it, but I don't like the way the 992 Touring looks. Nothing else really matters after that point, to be honest.

And I don't necessarily agree that the delta is $50k, the last few 992 Tourings sold on BaT, for instance, were far less than that.

What's more interesting to me is that the current 991.2 GT3T values have already factored in the impact of a generation change, the 992.1 has not yet had that depreciation hit. I will be curious to see where values sit a few years from now.

Of course none of these cars are investment grade collectibles , so this is all mostly about bragging rights over pennies compared to the big boys.

He did have one and did indeed sell it. The whining you're talking about was about a GT4 RS if memory serves.

I would argue look at the trajectory of the sales on auction sites. 992 touring prices are definitely softening. 991.2 touring prices are stabile or going up, last few sales commanded $60-70k over list. However I never recommend buying a car on speculation but buying what you love.

Hold on, you mean to tell me that on a 991 thread, a few folks like the 991 more than the 992!?! We’ve all seen this before (991 vs 997, 993 vs 964, etc.). To each his own.

All joking aside, they’re both splendid cars. IMO, the 991 GT3 (winged and touring) looks better than the 992 counterparts and the 992 has better driving experience. Not my opinion: scarcity value is the single most important factor in determining value for these cars, and neither car is particularly scarce. Thankfully, sounds like most of us are sober enough not to confuse these as legit investments, but fun cars they are indeed! I wouldn’t rule out picking up another 991.2 myself…I hear they’re going up in value!

I am that example. Although my cars were not exactly the same money I specced and bought my 992 new. I sold it because I preferred the 991. That’s just my personal preference. And the delta between my 2 cars was much less than you are talking about. The price difference was in no way a factor.

Yes $71,500 over MSRP. These 6 plus year old cars are outperforming the 992’s as compared to MSRP.

There were a lot of comments about the sofas as compared to the bucket. I prefer the buckets and wouldn’t want one without them among other options.

It was a great spec.. minus the sofas. But, hey, 71k over is nothing to sneeze at.

71,500 over is a big dollar amount for sure. It'll be interesting to see what the 991.2 winged 132 mile one goes for relative to this touring.

Agreed. People are appreciating the 991 as compared to the 992. It’s more special, limited and at least to me more desirable.

💯 and another auction sale confirming the $70k over list is not an anomaly but the current market. Personally I see them already as a classic and destined to continue climbing. 911r>991 touring> 992 touring and everything beyond. But that’s just one man’s lonely opinion.
