Default Car cover for 991.2 GT3 Touring

Question for all you experts. I am in the process of buying a second hand 991.2 GT3 Touring. Do you have any recommendations for a car cover? It has to be an outdoor cover as I will sometimes park the car outside unshaded. As I live in Singapore, the cover has to deal with heavy rain (has to be quick drying) and direct sunlight.

I currently have the Platinum Shield Car Cover from carcovers.com (for my other cars). I don't love it as it is baggy. It's also not that durable and I had to have one replaced under warranty when it disintegrated. The customer service is pretty terrible - the warranty replacement took maybe 20 emails and several calls, which is just painful when I am in a different time zone halfway around the globe. In any case, carcovers.com doesn't make a stock cover for the 991.2 GT3 Touring and I would need to call in to discuss a custom cover with them, which I just don't have confidence in.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

This reply shows (w/ links) the covers I use for my exterior vehicles.

The fit and protection are great.

This is the best cover I've ever used. It fits well, holds up to sun and rain, and doesn't seem to chalk as it gets older. It's pricey, but has been worth it.

That is the one I also use on my vehicles and is shown in my reply. Also have no hesitation recommending that cover and that company. I have purchased many from them over the years.

+1 on California Car Covers. I've used them on 8 different cars over the past 20 years with no regrets.

Also grab an "original California Car Duster" while you're there. Best duster made, by a mile.

Get the Porsche factory outdoor one from Suncoast Parts; it's very light and nicely reflective and has some other nice features and fits perfectly!

Do some of you guys store your cars under a cover year round? Any downsides?

I am considering taking my car out of storage. I live in the SE so it doesn’t get stay freezing all that often. Car also has full PPF so I am thinking dust and micro scratches shouldn’t be an issue. I would take the cover off and drive it at least every 1-2 weeks.

Thank you for all the recommendations. I tried to access the California Car Covers website from my computer, phone, and ipad. I keep getting a "403 Forbidden" message. Can you all access the website?

The California Car Cover Company website link works fine for me in Florida.

VERY nice that the website shows the current cost discounted ~$200.

I kept my old 993 under cover year round when I was in college, and it did ok. I rotate driving my cars to work, and cover them. PPF helps keep out micro scratches. Covering it clean helps a lot. Garage is better, but if you can cover it and use it more, a cover would be worthwhile.

The website to California Car Covers seemed to work when I pulled that link....

Thank you! I keep one car in the garage and one in storage and I would drive them both so much more if I had one around and covered. I should have thought of this sooner to be honest.
