I purchased the 10 year/100,000 mile extended warranty when I purchased my GT3 Touring back in 2019. At the time, I was under the impression that this was an extension of the 4 year/40,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. I cannot recall exactly how it was "sold" to me at the time, but that is my recollection. The driver's side "GT3" led light in the footwell stopped working and will cost almost $1,900 (including labor) to replace. The part, alone, costs over $1,200. My SA at Porsche South Bay made an effort to get the Porsche extended warranty department to pay for this but they refused. Apparently, no lights are covered under warranty, including the LED light in the passenger footwell. Perhaps that is the case with the 4 year/40,000 mile "bumper to bumper" warranty as well, but that seem ludicrous to me. As an aside, they also want $80 to replace the non-led light bulb in the frunk which, of course, is also not covered under warranty. Thanks, but no thanks.
Has anyone else had the footwell light stop working? And if so, was it replaced under warranty? Thanks for any insight the RL community might have on this one.
Update: It is considered a "wear" item. Similar to break pads, tires, windshield wipers. Totally ridiculous, in my estimation. But I don't make the rules, unfortunately. That being said, I will be contacting Porsche North America to inquire.
That’s really lame. Curious to hear why PCNA says. LEDs can have infant mortality. At that price I’d want to keep the broken part and inspect it to make sure it wasn’t a harness issue instead of a dead LED.
Sill or footwell light? Anyway....frunk light 80$? LOL. That is the same that's in the MK4 golf/passat. Insanity!
lights warranty should be not considered in my opinion wear item. LED light lifespan is much more than a typical HID or halogen bulb. So if LED light fails, it is s**t

Yes, the one in the door sill, the light that can be modified to say whatever you want - for a fee - with CXX.
The story actually is a little more complex than I initially explained. I had some unrelated work done on my Touring at a body shop and when I got the car back, the plastic piece around the frunk/rear hatch levers was cracked. And the GT3 light was not working anymore. The body shop ordered a new plastic piece and replaced it free of charge (they had a picture of the area at the time of drop off, showing no crack). They checked the light and it was plugged in to the harness. So, we do not know why the light stopped working after I dropped off the car. Now, I am trying to figure out who is on the hook for paying for a replacement. The body shop is trying to punt, Porsche punted. I have reached out to Amica to ask what to do. This can't be the first time such a scenario happened, where a car component is working upon delivery and broken upon completion of the unrelated repair work. I'll keep you posted. Have not contacted PCNA yet. FYI - the body shop is AGC in Silver Lake. A very reputable shop. Overall, I think they have done great work on the car. And they are still being very pro-active with the situation. They have not definitively said they would not take care of it; they have simply said they did not do any work in that area, so they do not know why the light would have broken while in the shop. The fact that that piece is cracked makes me wonder, though... It is awfully close to the LED light and some sort of hard impact to the area, causing the crack in the plastic, could have done damage to the light as well. That is my thinking, anyway. Seems awfully coincidental.

My ‘GT3’ light went out not too long ago. Turned out the sill had been faulty & needed replacing. Mine was covered under warranty as it was within a few weeks of taking delivery.
All the wiring is under the door sill, so I imagine your shop probably noticed the light had gone out & tried to pull the door sill up to remedy the problem. If they weren’t careful & pulled it up incorrectly; the door sill can crack.
I had the same exact issue on my driver's side LED door sill light go out at the very end of my 4 yr factory warranty for my GT3 Touring. This was replaced and covered under warranty -- I also have a Porsche extended warranty and was under the same impression that a failure like this would be covered. Does it state somewhere that all lighting relating repairs are not included in the extended warranty? So if a tail light or headlight went out that would be out of pocket after the 4 yr factory warranty?
I'm thinking the same thing... If it happens again, perhaps I'll just leave it unlighted.
There is a happy ending to this story. Amica paid for it. I explained to them the situation, from start to finish. My advisor said she would see what she could do. This evening, the amount for the replacement, plus labor, was wired into my account. A huge shout-out to Amica. I have always been extremely impressed by their service. This takes my appreciation for them to a whole new level.
