Default Thoughts on this Touring....

Looking to get back into a Porsche. Had a 987.2 Spyder for 9 years which I loved. Had a couple M3's off and on to have the 4 doors for kids and tried a Carrera T in the middle of those. Looking to get back into a manual Porsche and found this Touring that I am considering.

I know it's probably not an "ideal" spec for most as it's pretty light with mostly cosmetic additions (no full leather, no PCCB's, no buckets), but considering I am ok with the regular sport seats, and it has a nice rare PTS color it's pretty tempting. Mileage is a bit high (15K), but overall the car seems very clean and very well cared for. I have chatted with the original owner and some people around the circle that seem to know the car very well. Hoping to go check it out tomorrow.

Also thoughts on the Porsche Financial Services extended warranty options. Thoughts on this for a car out of factory warranty period.

Thoughts or feedback for a potential first time GT car...

Custom tailoring and PTS. Will be interested to see pics.
I mean, it’s hard to go wrong. If PCCB/LWBs aren’t important to you, then it doesn’t matter if it’s important to me.

15k is only high in this forum. In reality, it’s low mileage. If it’s been loved and had good routine maintenance, then 15k is a non-issue. Being able to talk to the original owner and others who know the car is huge.

Nice spec, very similar to my car, except I don’t have PTS or custom tailoring.

I love the car and it is one of my favorite DD, have a few others.

I’ve put on about 14k miles in five years.

The interior will be loud, much louder than the wing

It is a keeper, I love it

It’s hard to comment without more information. If the PTS is a color you like and the price is something you are good with then it’s a good car. Also the history of the car is important, any accidents? They are great driving cars and I don’t think the lack of buckets or PCCB’s will that. When I was looking for mine those were must options but they are not. I wouldn’t worry too much about the mileage, it’s a 5 year old car.

@mile2424 I bought a 2018 Touring with similar specs last December (no PTS color), 13k mi, I was able to get a CPO as it was sold by a dealer for 3 years (CPO+1).
LWB and PCCB were not important to me as it is a Touring and planned to use it as intended. I won’t stop me to do track day with good break pads, not concerned about it.
I know market lower since December so probably $175-185k would be my best guess for a Touring.

Others might disagree but 15k mi is nothing for those cars, I think too many believe GT3 should be kept in garage than being driven imo. I would expect 3-5k mi/year should be a minimum 😁

Thanks for the comments. Yeah I’ve been on the forum since 2004-2005, can’t remember, but been a Porsche fanatic my whole life.

No accident car, I believe 3 owners but first owner did the majority of mileage (12-13k). No over rev’s on DME in any range and I believe it’s never been tracked. Car also has a full PPF. CXX bits are side scripts and couple painted bits.

Someone mentioned the 4 year service. What does that entail on these cars? I’ll have to check to see what’s been done recently.

I’ll post some pics when I go see it tomorrow or Wednesday.

Asking Price?

Merit Partners sold the two they had so nationwide inventory is pretty low.

They did the 4 yrs service on mine before CPO mine and I have the invoice. It was $2k labor + $1.4K parts (air filter $766, spark plug, air and cabin filter, oil and brake fluid change mainly). I would say $3-4k depending on dealer to do it. If you do yourself with parts from suncoast or independent, probably $2k. Air filter requires rear bumper removal but not as difficult as it seems.
Hope it helps in your decision

I picked up one of them! Loving every single minute of it. PTS is great if it's available, otherwise these car are so much fun you just overlook the color when buying them used especially with inventory being low.

Also just to add it was a fantastic experience buying from MP. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Lol, I bought the other one! And completely agree about Merit Partners. It was a smooth, professional, and enjoyable purchase experience from start to finish.

Nice! We should meet up! I want to see the Meerablau. I was so tempted but could not justify the costs.
