Default Christmas in March

2014 GT3, 18k miles. Fan relay failure caused car to drop into limp mode on COTA out lap on second day of event. Pulled codes and saw misfire in cylinder 2. Towed it to dealer. Dealer just got back saying new engine on Porsche. So happy I stayed with the .1 GT3. How many people can say they got a new engine paid for by the manufacturer? With only 2 years left on the 10 yr warranty, I was planning my exit strategy. Now I'm just going to enjoy a new engine instead. Halleluyah!

Had the same thing happen to me beginning of December at buttonwillow. It’s not just a new engine, it’s a complete new engine with all new accessories. Everything is new back there 😀

Went through the same thing at Summit Point and ended up with a new motor in September.

Thats awesome. Did the dealer have any idea how long it would take to get one? I only ask because i am in the parts world and EVERYTHING is taking a while these days.

Congrats OP! Does the new engine has a different design from the original engine so that engine failure don’t happen a couple of years later on the new engine?

Update!

One week after Porsche Austin diagnosed my engine replacement issue, the car is ready with a new engine!

Amazing service from this dealer.

See you locals on the track!

That is super quick! Mine was 6 weeks from drop off to pick up. But it was during Christmas and New Years.
