i wonder if you would feel the same if Porsche made the warranty on the 991.1 gt3 engine flaw only apply to the original owner.
everyone that bought the car used and had an engine failure should buy a new gt3
Edit: as I mentioned before I didn’t expect the same warranty as the original owner like a new exhaust but I did expect them to say ship it back and we will take care of it. It will cost them nothing to have it fixed at their facility. I would’ve gladly paid for the shipping there and back.

these are aftermarket parts not cars - completely different terms and conditions of sale - if you want the warranty you buy parts new, if you want to save money you buy used and take the risk. no reason for JCR to have to carry the liability as parts change hands on the used market. and of course it costs JCR in time and opportunity cost.
me being the original owner or second owner doesn’t change the fact the exhaust has a design flaw
i thought I was buying a quality product from
a reputable company and therefore paid top dollar even used.
i think this kind of failure is unacceptable for an exhaust that costs over 6k new but if you feel otherwise that’s fine, we can agree to disagree.

The damn thing of it is these JCR race and silenced race exhausts sound so good that not having one on the car almost isn't an option after having it removed. I could do without the drone from 2.2-3k RPM but it totally transforms the car, and the "spit" as I call it that happens during a gear change sounds a lot like the Cups and GT3Rs.
If all goes well in 2022 (which is what I said *last year* about 2021, and that didn't happen) I'll be on-track a lot more and will see how the center bracket design aids in supporting the system to eliminate this tear-out issue.

In this case Porsche a premium product should deny warranty on second owner too. What does it matter how many owners it has, it's a metal tube and costs a fortune. The right thing to do is at least fix it for free. I would not buy JCR after hearing this. 👎

I don't have your name or any order number / reference so I cant find the original correspondence. As per my previous message, please drop me an email to discuss further, assuming you'd like to get this resolved

how in the world, would JCR know any history of the 2nd owner, how it was installed, who installed it, what conditions it was under, how was it shipped, stored, etc etc etc. there is a solid reason to not cover warranties on 3rd party, used products. The company has no way to know what conditions the product was in or under. They have stepped up to help. Thats more than enough. I dont have JCR products. I cant believe this is even an argument! I am sure the orginal poster, who got it, however, did nothing intentional ,or installed it, had it installed, or knew it was cracked, but there should be safety nets for the company, to insure a stable warranty police, with the companies option to repair, replace or deny coverage! Any company, who is planning on being in business, in the future, needs safety nets to protect the company and its employees.

I disagree. It's an exhaust pipe. There's no proper way to store it and only one way to install it.
If there has been a design imporvement, it tells the story that the OP's exhaust had a design flaw which has been corrected in later versions.
However, I would just take it to a local welder and have it fixed as there is the distance issue and I think shipping would cost more than getting it fixed locally.

It has nothing to do with what it is, it has to do with a warranty police that protects the company and the people. with the intent, that the company has the option to replace it, repair it or deny it. Standard policies, that are smart for the company, and is an agreement with the original sale.

I've had nothing but the absolute best customer service from JCR.
OP, I hope you get your exhaust repaired one way or another, it's worth it; even if you get it repaired/reinforced locally out of pocket. It's pretty entertaining being on track with Cup Cars and thinking "my car still sounds better"

But if you would like to know the history of the exhaust i bought the exhaust locally from the original owner who had it installed on his rs for less then a week and found it unbearably loud (at least that's the story i was told, without going into too much detail about the previous owner i believe that). Personally i think its THE BEST SOUNDING exhaust out there. I will never take that away from them. When i purchased it, it was like new in perfect shape, and after two track days i noticed a light vibration/rattle and slight change in tone. Thinking back that was when it first started to crack but i couldn't see the cracks so i did two more track days and the end results are the pictures in the first post.
If this was an isolated incident i would agree with you but seeing how everyone that has tracked this exact exhaust has had the same failures i did expect/hope for some kind of help with actually getting the exhaust repaired.
It is what it is, i did buy it used, currently the exhaust is at a reputable shop that's known for custom titanium exhausts getting fixed (hopefully) as we speak so matter is resolved on my end.
I appreciate everyone's replies, suggestions and feedback. In the grand scheme of things with whats happening in the world today this is not a big deal.
