I don’t get it. You are saying you are a smart seller but now a stupid buyer? 30k over what? The RS is now 2 years post production. Send your bill of sale.

You are likely someone who doesn’t know how to drive stick (did you get a smoothie out of the exhaust out of your “beloved” gt3 which you had less than 12 months before selling after the transmission “blended”?) and someone with limited PCNA relationship because his cars are purchased used and you lie in listing ads and later disclose the truth on that very same forum? Money$hift Riley

yeah- I’m maybe I am a-. But you see I’m not stupid.

OP,

I dont think you understand these cars much (or maybe cars in general). Just being able to afford a car in cash doesnt mean you know what you are talking about.

The transmission failure in question happened in a 991.1 GT3. Money shift refers to a term by which the driver misshifts the car into a too low gear (such as instead of 5 to 4, you go 5 to 2) where the engine speed exceeds redline due to engine/transmission/differential all being connected. This cannot happen on a PDK or any automatic transmission. Its a manual transmission only thing.

I have no idea how you concluded from the for sale thread that his car had a money shift. But clearly you arent as smart as you claim. Go to any subaru/mustang/miata forum and people will laugh at what you just said.

Your welcome

You are correct in that he had a .1 which obv is a pdk and I obv read it too quick at 6am regarding shifting and I take that back and apologize. I saw your post about money shift, saw GT3, thought .2 (in which that could obv happen) thought yeah that could make sense, connected dots that weren’t meant to be connected and boom.

With regard to his point about the transmission failure and his profit and pcna and the 1 year of ownership (1k mi) and everything else- all my prior points remain.

MOST important it’s all off topic...

LOL! I know. But obviously this contributes to it.

I would suggest anyone else weigh in if you’ve had an engine failure here on a 2019 gt3rs, otherwise this could definitely be the last post. And I’m sure those that read it , if it happens... will revisit this thread and expect a similar response from PCNA.

And if Porsche was serving up NDAs to the others that this has happened to after 100% addressing the issue ..,Surely Oliver here would’ve have been served one as well. Let’s let him get back to his 1 star Yelp reviews after the next restaurant he visits comps his meal because he complains that his steak wasn’t cooked right.

Regarding frequency of occurance, I know of a .2 RS replacement in our area, was tracked. So yes we need to get a handle on how often this has happened. Dealer did him right.

was it a blue one in the Gig Harbor area? ambiguous except for the OP and said dealer response. Any details or just” a .2 RS replacement in our area” ? On my end I’ve heard of an oil pump issue creating an engine replacement on a .2RS in aforementioned area but that’s all I got and certainly can’t verify.

Yes, don't know details other than replacement. Know the owner distantly, car has changed hands since. I'll ask a bit. I'd be glad to hear if it is just a one off issue.

Timing chain related from what I hear. Anyway a one off it sounds like. Engine replaced and owner treated well.

There is no such thing as a "one off" with an engine. 1 failure is a failure. Find out why , ask questions as to what failed and why. Its your car!!!

Nice, I literally just signed my R43 contract with Flat six innovations, for my 997.
Am I headed there eventually (after warranty) with my GT3 too?
Dam, when I bought it, I thought I would own it for ever, now I’m wondering...
It is a manual, but I thought I read further up in the thread, that a manual had failed too.

One internet thread about a failed engine is not a big trend/issue with the engine design
