Default Are Dealers Willing To Move On Prices?

Deciding to make the move on a few .2 3’s, but I’m finding the few dealers I’m talking to are not willing to move on pricing. Even though the history of the pricing on the car apps show reductions ($2k, sometimes even $4k) in their sale prices.

Is anyone else finding this out, too? Are dealers willing to hold that tight? We’re not talking much - a few thousand $. Nothing insulting.

Thanks,

I done did a thing. Yea, they didnt wiggle much. They turned down every offer but a $1k. But followed the advice above, didnt let a few k mess with me getting my dream car. Had everything I wanted on this 700mile gem but for carbon fiber trim and I didnt want PCCB. Turns out i love the brushed aluminum trim and who hates pccb. Not sure what to do with myself now. Other than a good woman and an amazing 911, which I have both now, never wanted anything else since i was 10.

Show them the "color of your money."

The best deal I ever got was when I wrote a check - for an aggressive, but fair amount, including taxes, title, etc... - and set it on the sales manager's desk saying basically "This is the only check I brought, cash it or tear it up, your choice..."

haha, that's a power move. hopefully he didn't file it away for use later as a 'put' option in case the car didn't end up moving at the price he wanted!

I like the move. Unfortunately, I’m about 1,000 miles away and Have to talk over the phone to all of them.

low inventory of cars due to factory shutdowns and an increasing demand. If it’s the perfect car for you don’t let a few thousand get in the way.

Agree, though if you don't have to get a .2 GT3 this month, you might consider waiting 3 months. Good chance the 992 GT3 will be announced by then which should drop the demand and value of the remaining 991.2 GT3s

Nah. It was 7:45 PM, two days before Christmas, they were about to close for the holidays, and my kids were in the showroom bitching at me about being hungry. He knew the clock was ticking quickly...

Plane tickets are cheap these days - and flights are only 30% full...

I've got no dog in your fight, but are you looking for excuses to "buy" or "not buy" a car...?

So $2K on $150K+ car is a deal breaker? Is it the price or the fact that you just want $2K off. If you see a car you like and can afford it (per your budget) - buy it.

You know the comps - there isnt that much variation in price.

Don't let the deal interfere with the ultimate prize, which is the new car you really desire. I would hold off until you find your perfect spec.

So many of these value threads lately. And yes, a few k is negligible considering the cost of ownership for this car

Holy crap, I love this method.

Going to give it a test run when I go grocery shopping later today.

LOL! A little of both I guess! I think my issue is the GTs I’m looking at don’t have every option I want, so I’m looking for a motivator to buy. I think Cubsfan1 states it best; to wait till you find the right one, then just buy it.

Yeah but make sure to act quick when you see the one. A .1RS Riviera Blue slipped through my hands.

Prices are actualy going up, so I would think, we will see 160 to 180 prices by the end of september. Sports cars, boats, even campers are going up, and motorcycles and bicycles are out of stock. Crazy times.
