I'm with you on Jeff Cherun's list. I like his take on the 991.1 GT3RS. It fits in this value thread nicely.
991.1 GT3RS is going to go down as a very underrated long-term car. I drive mine often and it is sublime. The rattles, noises, sound, as well as the slightly softer suspension than the .2 is perfect for my usage...for the track the .2 991 GT3RS is stiffer and a bit faster, but for the roads and canyons, I sure do love my .1. Never selling.
Actually just got a few sets of BBS magnesium wheels for my .1 - I just love the way it looks and drives (steering feel changed instantly).

It's also hilarious how many winged GT3 owners feel the Touring is not a real GT3. I don't recall ever seeing a GT3 RS owner complaining about the 911R not having a wing...what's up with that?
Actually what is the downforce difference between GT3 touring and winged variant? I know the GT3RS has mega downforce in comparison to std. GT3, like 992 lbf vs. about 300 lbf at top speed? What about touring?
TBH there were moments in my GT3 where above 100 mph I could feel the front nose want to lift up a bit.
I don’t disagree. 991.1rs is a great, fun road car suspension setup. I always found it super compliant but not too squishy, on the road. It was missing a little “bite” for a traditional RS, but no one car can be everything.

Those are two stunning cars Jeff. I love my 991.1 GT3RS too. And, like you, I'm also going to get some silver BBS magnesium wheels to go with my ultraviolet girl. By the way, if you don't mind my asking, where did you source those Porsche oem magnesium wheels?

did you end up with the black wheels, the gold wheels or both

thanks! I have the white gold set that came with the GT2RS and a black and Aurum set for the GT3RS. Suncoast sells all colors as a set. A beautiful and great upgrade. Post pics when you get them.

The black and Aurum sets are for the GT3RS (and would work on GT2RS, of course). Nice to rotate them back and forth for a totally different look. The Aurum is brighter and punchier and the black more menacing. Changes the character of the car completely.

Great pics. They capture the essence of what makes the .1 look so right.

Thanks man. I'll post pics when they're installed.
I’m jealous of our ROW cousins. I had a manual 991.2-3 with clubsport package (in the UK) and that thing was the most versatile all-in-one Swiss Army knife GT I’ve ever owned. If it somehow had a removable top at the same time, there would be nothing it couldn’t do (kidding, but, obviously it couldn’t pull off the open top thing). It was functional enough to tool around town, engaging enough to tour European scenic roads and all while having factory cage/harnesses in the back. That was my fav 991 out of the few I owned. It didn’t do anything “best” but it did everting “well”. Biggest complaint is more of an overall 991 complaint: a little sterile. Not a 991, but 981 spyder my favorite of that era as more road-car and less track.
I have been thinking about this thread as I saw a 991.1 targa being enjoyed today on the road, and as much as I like my GT3T, if I had to have one 991, and I could back in time and order it new, I might get a 991.1 C2S with powerkit cab. Narrow body, PTS (green)/LTS (ascot)/wood trim/lots of leather all at reasonable non-CXX prices. 4 way sport buckets (heated and cooled). I’d miss the extra HP and 9k redline (which I rarely use) and id really miss the LWBs and carplay, but that is a spec which I think would bring a lot of long term enjoyment.
