'19 GT3RS or 600LT for fun and 6-8 Track weekends/yr.
I'm considering adding a more track focused car to my garage that will also be enjoyable for mountain roads and road trips up to 2-3 hrs. I'm considering the 600LT and 2019 GT3RS at this time. I hope to get out and drive both of these in the next month or so. I already have a 720S coupe, so I thought it would be nice to have something different like the GT3RS. However, I've watched several track videos and I'm amazed at the performance of the 600LT, especially even on high horsepower tracks like VIR. I could also get the 600LT Spider and enjoy the top down driving for a good part of the year. The 600LT would also be something my wife could drive for fun around town (probably more practical than the GT3RS) if I'm driving the 720.
I was really only considering the GT3RS until I watched some videos about how well the LT performs despite the relatively smaller tires compared to the GT3RS. The GT3RS is just such a proven and reliable workhorse on the track, it's tough to take the chance on the 600LT. I'll probably be doing 6-8 track weekends/yr.
Thanks for any input!

Own a 675LT and RS I’d take the RS for track abuse Porsche reliability is great, and warranty on track use can’t go wrong.

RS hands down, Porsche builds the best cars for the track.

Both amazing cars. But since you own a 720, get an Rs. Mix it up.

600LT is a beast on the track..plus McLaren backs the car under warranty as long as no mod's are done to it and it is serviced at a McLaren dealer. McLaren puts this in writing. Porsche is not as clear about warranty and there are parts of owners manual to make you think car is under warranty at the track then parts that make is basically clear the car is not under warranty if it is tracked. After many heart to heart talks with dealers and PCNA its clear push comes to shove the car really is not under warranty if it breaks and it's been used at the track. Although plenty of Porsches have been tracked and still got warranty done...it is an if'y call most of the time.
I'd love a McLaren but the cockpit is small with no headroom for tall guys. 720S has a little more room and I could get in the 720S but no headroom for a helmet. Porsche fits tall guys extremely well. funny though I fit good in a Ferrari 488GTB.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your car shopping! I have both, enjoy them for different reasons.
I have all the cars on the list .2 3RS, 720S coupe, and 600LT. Done some track days and driving on them. 720S is perfect for mountain roads, road trips, and some track times. For the 600LT, I don't find 3RS that much enjoyable on mountain roads, gears are very tall.
I dislike driving 600LT coupe around town very much. the none stop pump noise from the front, the spartan alcantara interior, and the worst AC system in the current era. As for track tho, the 600LT comes alive, very very good track weapon. Not the same as 720s, can't be more different than 3RS.
If you are considering 600LT coupe, I would pass. 600LT spider tho, might be different story. Track days in the 3RS is about details, whereas 600LT is about laptime and how fast you can go around the next corner.
For reliability concern, my 600LT has been holding up very good but my buddy's 600LT keep going back to the shop for different reasons. But again, 6-8 track weekends are not that serious. As long as they are under warranty I don't see any problem there.

Thanks man it’s my keeper car. The two cars a Jekyll and Hyde love them both. I’ve gone through so many cars and I have 2 that I just love to drive. Told my wife 2020 will be zero car buys first time in 8 years nothing I want or really have to have.
