Decided to take the plunge as well. Waiting on delivery on 2016 G0 engine 991 GT3. Added the 3rd year CPO so that the engine and CPO could be en sync (peace of mind). I guess I’ll drive it hard!

Or am I crazy to consider and rather, spend the extra dough and get a 991.2....

Thoughts?
I have a 2015 991.1 GT3 that the F engine was replaced with a G6 engine in 2021.
It have had zero issues since in over 8k miles and 6 track events. I now have 43k miles on it.
I did buy an EasyCare-TotalCare service contract for an extra 5 years:www.easycare.com

I had an easycare warranty on one of my old BMWs and they were super easy to work with. Would highly recommend. Definitely take advantage of it!

If iI had to teke a guess, 20-25k would be the price for the upgrade on .1 follower problem..
4.0 .2 engines, I see them around for 30k

Need your input please.

My 2014 GT3 has its E - Engine installed (since February 2014) and is now running out of warranty, did approach my local Porsche dealer about a warranty extension option and the feedback was….sorry, Porsche cannot supply an extended warranty due to the age of the car.

I know that there are others options / insurance companies that will probably offer an extended warranty but would prefer to stay with Porsche if possible.

Has anyone extended his warranty with Porsche beyond the 10 years and would kindly provide some information so I can approach Porsche again.

Thank you!

I think that reply is crap.
Vehicle may be old for CPO cert, but many folks have added an extended warranty to their GT cars (non-RS).
There may be several variables involved, but I simply asked for an exception to underwriting directly to the Finance Manager (not a SA), and was approved within a week.
Was offered several options of their Porsche Financial Services (PFS) Vehicle Service Protection Platinum VSC plan, and I opted to pay the $8K 72-month, 80K miles (add 80K to current mileage) plan.
Three months after purchasing the extended warranty my E-series threw the 'code,' and motor was immediately replaced with a G6 not using this extended warranty.
Maybe shop around with other dealers. A "Premier" Porsche dealer may be better assistance.
