Default 991.1 GT3 after 2024

I am entertaining the purchase of a 2015 991.1 GT3 here locally. It'll have essentially no warranty other than the engine. These cars are becoming a good value lately, but my concern is how the market will look after the engine warranty expires, especially if engine not replaced under warranty with a "fixed" one. . Or am I crazy to consider and rather, spend the extra dough and get a 991.2....

Thoughts?

Nobody will say you are crazy for having 991.1, many here do and many of them have had zero issues.

That being said, i bought a 991.2...

You worry too much.

How do you know you'll still be alive in 2024?

Or, for that matter, if anyone will still be alive in 2024?

Buy today, drive today. Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow.

Buy one with a replaced engine that had it's engine replacement in late 2017 or later.

As far as I know, 2017 was when they made the final version of that engine. I haven't read any reports of that engine failing. Every other version has failures reported.

Buy it and drive it like you're trying to break the engine. You have 4 years. Good luck.

If it has miles on it i think it is safe to say the engine was not impacted. Driving it is the only way to know. Once it has the new engine it is solid.

Why pay $80k+ for a car with a design defect?

...Like buying a Hyundai with the 10y or 20y warranty and 200k miles, are these chinese cars any good?

Can you buy an extended warranty for either the .1 or .2 GT3??

Not trying to high jack thread but do not really know the answer but would be part of my decision buying one right now

2024? I don't even know what to eat for lunch.

If it's a good deal, just buy it and enjoy it. There's literally thousands of these on the road (or in a garage). Stop fretting, start driving.

I believe the car will be worth in the neighborhood of $10-20K after 2024 and the engine warranty expires.....I would buy it now and sell it in late 2023.....you will get much more for it during that year, which is the Year of the Rabbit....a rabbit is very fast, so is the GT3....2024 is Year of the Dragon, meaning the car will likely go up in flames....best of luck with your decision and journey.....

Buy it and drive the **** out of it and hope it fails. I have a 15 GT3 with almost 30k and no problems but again I drive it hard. I hope it goes to 100k before the engine needs replacing. There is already a real fix by converting the heads and valve train to solid lifters when your engine warranty expires.
