There’s not that many 991.2 Gt3 Rs in the USA . Maybe around 1500. Everyone keeps saying they overproduced them but that’s really not many cars. As far as it being a classic I doubt it but it will sound better than the 992 variant.

1,431 in the USA and considering how many colors and options there were versus 997 most spec’s are pretty rare.

As an example there are more GT2RS weissachs then there are GT3RS’s with the weissach package.

That's a lot of units for a car that stickers for $220K+.

I wouldn't say they overproduced though. For the most part, dealers can easily sell new GT3 RS at sticker even in today's market condition. Used will take a hit but that's in line with all cars and the hit is not that bad in comparison.

Overproduced is what McLaren does, where dealer inventory just piles up with new cars because event at a $50K discount they can't offload them.

Interesting that there are so few Lava Orange. I love that color. As for the 991.2 GT3RS becoming a classic, I'm sure it will eventually, but personally I don't really care all that much. I'm just enjoying driving the hell out of mine.

When I bought my car I asked myself if I would be able to mentally handle it if hypothetically my car's value went to zero. Sure, I wouldn't be happy about it, but I also decided it wouldn't be the end of the world and wouldn't even come close to financially hurting me.

With that in mind, I'm able to just freely enjoy driving the car.

In case you missed it, I said, "in my book." And by the way, that 5 gauge cluster that you are so quick to dismiss, is a major heritage feature in the 911 interior. It's been there from the beginning. Additionally, I agree with you that the 992 GT cars will be the latest and greatest in terms of their performance. It's always that way with Porsche.

not really . They will make close to 12,000 Ferrari 488 and many more lamborghini Huracans and Mclaren 720s than Gt3 Rs. All three examples are over 300k on average. Not saying it’s a small production number but somehow 1400 cars with only 113 like mine in the country doesn’t sound like a lot . Sure it’s expensive but with a population approaching 400 million there are plenty of people who can afford it . I too am enjoying my car and don’t care if it’s a classic or not (likely won’t have the car that long. Either way it’s an interesting discussion. By comparison they made over twice as many GT3s.

I don’t think 991 would be a classic but it’s the shape and interior I like. Will it retain value better though than something more common say like a Carrera S?
