Flipping cars are for guys with more $$$ than brain. I can take $180k and just put it in Microsoft stock and gain $18,000 per year with very little effort or cash out at $360,000 in about 8-9 years.
Yes, I am also in the market for a GT3 manual and will drive the crap out of it.

Having driven both in anger (manual and pdk gt3.2) the pdk IMO shifts better in auto mode than anyone ever could manually shift a pdk trans - so for me running pdk in manual mode is a “why bother” scenario.

No matter its origins, the manual works incredibly well with the car. I can't watch the following video and not think that the engine and six-speed combo is effective and that it's a blast to drive. Different transmissions for different drivers, one's not "better" than the other. (I haven't seen a faster PDK lap around Laguna, btw)

1. For the 991.1 GT3, the engine was designed with both Manual and PDK transmissions in mind. It was late in the development/approval process for the model that they decided to go with only the PDK option.
2. The 991.2 has a new 4.0L motor with many revisions from the 3.8L used above (as well as from the 4.0 in the .1 RS and 911R). So even if you mistakenly believe that the 3.8L or first gen 4.0L were designed only for PDK, the new 4.0L motor surely was not (the GT4 and 911R had already proven the business case for a manual).

My 991.1 GT3 was especially awful in auto mode, it was undriveable in auto mode on the street. Complete trash programming.

That is a wicked fast lap for an amateur in a street car.

(Incidentally, I think I'm the one that (blocked?) you at the beginning of your flying lap, belated apologies)

As far as I'm concerned it doesn't matter which one is 'better' ...
One day very soon we'll all be forced to buy cars that are electric and autonomous ... until that cursed day comes I'm making hay with as much driving as I can do myself without any assistance.
So until I no longer have a choice it is manuals where I can, gas guzzling V8s where I can, NA when I can ... there'll be plenty of time for automatics later, no way I'm getting ahead of that curve.

More cars being bought as short term investments by amateurs these days. This will pop and reality will settle in. .2's are showing less resale right off the bat than .1's were at same time of release. Lots of 991 GT's out and on the way. 992 right around corner too. .2 GT3 with 2K+ miles will be under MSRP very soon. All these cars will have deprecation curves. Better than Carrera's, but they ain't gonna be appreciating.
The "it crowd" has already moved onto RS and whatever next best thing of the week is. Ask Martin, he's always ahead of the curve.
