So many manual GT3's for sale
#16
When I tell people I optioned a PDK, most of their first reaction (these are all non-GT3 owners) is "Oh man, but manuals are the one that will be worth a premium down the road"! Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but it seems too many folks checked the box with the hopes of a better return. I wouldn't be totally surprised if it eventually becomes more difficult to find a PDK than a manual...

The PDK is just the better, and correct, transmission for a GT3 (either GT3, T, or RS)

Wasn't having as much fun in or driving my .1 GT3 as much as I would like and wanted something different so just bought a .2 with a manual. Will see how I feel about it in a few months. If it was either a daily driver (which I would not buy a GT car for) or a dedicated track car, would go PDK for sure. I just really want a fun car for the road with frequent but not hardcore track use. I don't think picking up a .2 GT3 in PDK would have made me feel much different than a .1 PDK. I have a feeling there is a good portion of people who agree with my sentiments and got a manual this time around.

80% of the cars for sale have less than 1000 miles on them. Thats less than the average driver puts on in a month. There was no PDK vs Manual. these cars or owners never "owned" anything, nor can they make some crazy boast that one is better, or holds more value. They never drove it! A beach trip in a rental car is more than most put on these cars. On auto trader, there is more PDK so that kinda blows the entire reasoning out the window. Porsche can just require a 2 yr non sale agreement and all this go's away. If you sell it before its 2 yr mark, you cannot buy a new one. Something like that stops the flipper, and slows down the continuous "What will it be worth" BS

Three Wheelin'
PDK vs MT “debate” is like the current political rhetoric, neither side has a monopoly on total nonsense because a little truth thrown in to amplify the confusion.

I have owned 6 different 911s over the years not to mention a variety of other high performance cars, both automatics and manuals. I am so glad I was able to buy the GT3 in manual. It is clear the best driving, most engaging car I have ever driver, period. There is nothing like winding her out to 9K rpm in 2nd and 3rd gear.

You do realize you can do this with a PDK too though, right? I don't believe either one is better or worse, purely personal preference and what's best for your own situation, but I feel like people have never tried a PDK in "manual" mode and assume it's just as boring as driving an automatic.

I have owned various 911s with PDK over the years, including turbos and normally aspirated. I fully realize that one can shift a PDK using paddles and have done this on the track and street. With that said, there is something about my manual GT3 that is hard to describe. It just feels right!

I have both. Pdk RS. Manual GT3.
pdk faster, quicker, better for track.
manual more engaging, more fun.
There is is no right or wrong- both serve a purpose.

I fully agree. I love the manual because the majority of my driving in that car involves back roads on weekends. My daily driver is a PDK which is great for going to a from work in the traffic. Best of both worlds.
