I wouldn’t hold my breath on a GT3 price drop - PDK or Manual. Not until the 550 HP 9,500 RPM NA 992 is announced!

Good for buyers as this condition will drive over supply. 991.1’s didn’t hit the market this early post launch. It’s 50/50 on PDK and manuals for sale. The winter will be fire sales.

991.1 still out value them with the 10yr warranty, that will quickly become a large factor in pricing

...and then the game starts anew with the 992s. At that point there will be a new "992 GT3 GT3RS" category, and all the value threads will go away from here! YES!!

I'm not surprised of all the GT3.2 cars for sale... but we knew this was gonna happen with so many flippers out there. Heck I have 2 friends that are already flipping theirs.... one hardly drove his and he barely broke even, and wondered why... lol. Told him "you're late in the game" and "you shoulda done this many months ago" so I hope lessons learned there for him.

This car deserves to be driven.... it's ashame.
Even under the best of conditions I don't understand the flipping. If you paid sales tax and sell it privately, I don't see how you could make any money at all. If you trade it in to a dealer you're bound to take a loss. The economics of flipping this car just don't make sense. If you got a GT2RS at MSRP, sure, I can see flipping it, but a standard GT3? I just don't see the point. Even if you manage to make a profit, it's so minuscule that it's not even worth the hassle.

Flipping cars are for guys with more $$$ than brain. I can take $180k and just put it in Microsoft stock and gain $18,000 per year with very little effort or cash out at $360,000 in about 8-9 years.

Yes, I am also in the market for a GT3 manual and will drive the crap out of it.

Part of the reason is also the GT3 RS allocations are coming out

There are quite a few people out there who got GT3's thinking that they had a while before the RS and then got earlier allocations then planned so have not had them long

Flipping cars will go away once auto loan rates go up again. Right now people are borrowing money and driving cars at a minimal loss and keep trading them in. Once rates go up to 6 percent again, people will think twice. No smart person wants to dump 200k cash into a car for a potential to flip it.

I feel very much the same way. When I pull away I switch it to manual mode without thinking. I don't miss having the left foot involved, I still feel in control of the engine. I grew up driving manuals but PDK just feels right to me.

To each their own though -- I love the fact that manual came back in .2, give people choice.

Almost all the time I am manually shifting my GT3 while in PDK-S mode. Doesn't matter neither on speed since it's just as fun on city streets too IMO... and when the road opens then that grin just widens up even more.

Sure the manuals are involving and requires more articulation.... but the PDK-S is just as sublime. I climb in my GT4 or GT350R or even the Miata and I fully enjoy rowing the gears... then I climb in the GT3 and the feeling is just as ecstatic, adrenaline-full. I still have control of what gear I want to be in and what rpm level plus when I want to upshift or downshift... and I still have to focus no matter what. It's not watered down to me... but that's my opinion and this manual/PDK debate will be endless and all subjective anyway.

Just be glad we (you, me, us...) are able to enjoy the new 4.0 in this .2 GT3 because, as I have said it elsewhere, that's the true winner and that's what we're all really paying a lot of moolah for... be glad WE ALL have choices. Just pick your poison and enjoy it.

I wish the RS came with a manual option also. That would make it a keeper in my book

Exactly. And Porsche put a brilliant manual in the car, too. You can make a strong argument that they put the best dual clutch and manual transmissions in the GT3. I really like how responsive Porsche is to the desires of their customers. They get it.

That would be counter-intuitive. The RS is supposed to be optimized to be the fastest. Why put a slower transmission in it?
