Saying Goodbye to my Golf Blue .2GT3

You will always remember where you were when Tyson bit Holyfield’s ear, Lance Armstrong admitted to doping, Tom Brady was busted for deflating *****...and Martin was exposed as a flipper!
In other news, now we know the real meaning of ANTIFA = Anti FlippA.

Plenty of people regretted getting the PDK as well. There will always be a percentage of people disappointed.

Many sales tactics are based on psychology and scarcity ...

That was $86M back in 2012. God only knows what it would be today.
Rumor of a different one in a private sale to Dmitry Rybolovlev for $186M in 2014.
And neither of those are the darker works (more preferred in my mind) which would most certainly fetch a higher bid.

At first I hated this thread but now, upon a bit of reflection, love it! Lots of characters on Rennlist. Lots of personality. Embrace this fact, and appreciate Rennlist for what it is. For me it's a frequent escape from the routine stresses of daily life.
Starting with hunt for a 991 GT3, then a 911R, then a .2 GT3... I was adamantly opposed to both flippers and ADMs, and was furious with Porsche for their negligence with the sales process. Was squarely in the 'I won't pay a penny over' camp. But after stupidly turning down a 911R at $50k over plus wasting countless hours of my time searching for a GT3 @MSRP, something snapped. I'm now reformed. I'm now corrupt.
Within reason, for many of us at least, it really doesn't matter how much you pay to get what you want if it comes down to your time. I'd say $10-20k over on a near $200k car is well within reason. In retrospect, it was idiotic of me to turn down so many GT3s because of a few thousand dollars. And kudos to those who play the system to their advantage.
Also, cars (Porsches) are a sickness. It may not be someone's intention to flip. They want the car badly. It's offered to them at MSRP. They buy it. The next one comes along. Nothing wrong with this at face value. Most realize they are not making much money, if any. Most are losing money and time. Peace.

^^ I get that.
Martin bet on the right dealer. I thought I did also.
I gave my dealer a deposit in 2007 and bought all my new cars from them at MSRP.
I have a piece of paper that says I get first non VIP allocation GT2RS or GT3RS from 2015 when I again let my deposit ride.
Now they claim not to have allocations. But GT2RS is sitting in the showroom?
Sales guy does nothing but bitch and stopped replying, never got the “you get the next one” words, so I can take a hint.
Im pretty sure I will get one next year as the big quantities arrive, perhaps from other friendly dealers but if my dealer refunds the deposit, its probably easier to start over with a different brand, than it is to start all over building up a relation with local Porsche dealers.
