"Single mass flywheel" — interesting.
I heard AP saying this engine with the hollow crank shaft would not be a great pairing for a single-mass flywheel. Perhaps the GT3 R has different bearings etc and that's the actual issue Porsche says we can't put a single-mass flywheel on the 991.2 GT3

The current GT3R redline (991.1) is 9,300 RPM. Makes me think the street car with PDK could go higher than 9,000 (just as the previous GT3 RS was 300 RPM higher than the manual 911R).
But perhaps they limit it to 9,000 to not have to do rebuilds!
The 2017 RSR (mid-engine GT3) sounds even higher revving to a couple folks at Porsche who told me their thoughts. Sign of things to come for the 992 GT3 perhaps!

Regardless of quoted power figure, it will never turn a wheel in any meaningful sense while producing "550 hp" because it races in BOP series.
It's irrelevant.

There was one thing that was slipped at Weissach. They referred to the .2 GT3RS as 550HP....................
