Did you turn onto JVL Industrial Park drive in that cab yesterday? I yelled "nice 993!" out of the gray Raptor, if so... if not, there's a guy with the same car / top as you around here.
not me yesterday....where is JVL Park? I was out the day before...
Buy the RS for $50k over, flip it for $80k+ over and then use that profit to apply towards Ferrari purchase.
I'm just being mean
Even at say a 30k markup, I think it would be difficult to make money after taxes, etc. Plus i'm not in the business of flipping supercars. No time for that.

I just told him I'd email him.. I didn't want to ruin my friend's first 911 purchase by making it about me.

If I was looking for a modern fun car, I agree with you the 458 would be high on the list. but for me so would the Huracan - love the combo of Italian styling and German engineering. The goofy allocation and limited production games for the GT3 have just gotten too silly...
Nice on the 356!.... As far as the Huracan, it's a fantastic car no doubt. I test drove one last week. I love V-10 sound and it is a rocket ship. While the looks are stunning, it is a bit on the smaller side, and like all Lambos, it's a bit "much" ..... I think the 458 has the classic timeless Ferrari look, and while I only spent a few mins behind the wheel, I prefer the way it drove over the Audi ( I mean Lamborghini). I do believe the 458 will hold it's value better down the line as well.

Higher operating cost, fewer dealerships, more show-off.
The show off thing is true.. alot harder to bring a Ferrari around some people than a 911. Same with dealerships I suppose... But it is the first Ferrari that has proven it's rock solid reliability over the last 10 years... And maintenance isn't bad at all. It's well into it's depreciation curve and IMO for 180 to 200k there isn't a better all around package for a low mileage exotic car

Forget the stigma/BS/judgment, if you are a car enthusiast you know the 458 is a really attractive car to get into, especially at the prices they are currently at. I would take the 458 everywhere I wanted to short of something like Skid Row. Last Pininfarina designed mid-engined V8/last NA V8 from Maranello. I think you made a smart move, at the end of the day it's a car like any other to go from A to B, only with more emotion and fun/enjoyment in doing so. Drive the wheels off of it and enjoy in good health

agree people do look when you pull up in a 458, but I do find it more curiosity because it not a common car. I got weird looks, and stares all the time in Barney. Leaned in life never care what people think. (:
