I’m not a side decal guy but I would have specced the Lizard with WP and side decals because the contrast looks great. But in your case you can add anytime if you change your mind.

I know, weird.
and I even remember him saying that the painted CF wing on the 4.0 was LIGHTER then the clear coated 3.8RS wing.
So how did a CF clear coated frunklid and roof get lighter then painted CF and Magnesium?

He talks about it in one of the interviews. Fewer layers of weaves if I remember correctly.

Yes I didn't want to argue this point but I think they have a new process that makes the roof lighter.......by 1 pound. I don't think the wing and hood weigh less but with the newer prep process prob the same weight as the painted stuff. Carbon fabrication has dramatically improved, just look at what BMW has been doing, The work on their chassis alone is incredible and seeing the not to mention what they have been doing for years at McLaren. I think this is just progress and minor at best I mean why would adding a coat of paint and clear coat be lighter in the older cars? Again the process to cleat coat the Carbon had to be different back then. When you look at the GT2RS with the WP stripes it really looks dramatic compared to the older "stickers on carbon" feel of the older stuff. I could be wrong and this could be all be a great marketing trick

No doubt there's at least a little marketing mixed in.

Main thing will be that it's the visual item that sets it apart the most from gen1

In his defense there are different type of CF. the stuff use in porsche are not the best. maybe the used a better cloth.... or... just marketing. and the wt difference is likely negligible

Just put my first 50 miles on the 3RS. She is a different animal to the 2RS. Less power is actually nice in a way for street driving. More playful.

i will post a proper opinion after some more time in her.

Anyone that can keep it under 4K rpm for 2000km has willpower far beyond me.

great car

My vehicle completion date (V300) changed from 7/20 to 7/27......real bummed about that; that isn't the direction I was hoping for.

Has anyone else seen movement on their completion dates? Admittedly, this does not rise to the level of a Greek tragedy but man o man.
