Default what is not right with the GT3RS

Ok..I'm totally blown way with the driving limits of this car. Words do not describe its performance on track. Can you use the word amazing too many times? Now what pisses me off. For MSRP of $213k you would think the vents in the front fenders, the air intake in the rear fenders, the rear defusser and the front lip would have been formed in carbon. The matte black plastic is just cheesy. compared to my Lambo Performante which is carbon everything it just looks like Porsche said "give them great performance screw everything else!". I think a super car should look like its made from ultra trick materials. Sure we get a magnesium roof but who the hell knows that other than a few well informed car guys. Bring on the carbon bling. I will be swapping out what I can in carbon and wrapping everything else in a gloss carbon weave. Stay tuned! Did I forget to say that this is a amazing car?

That's actually one of the things I like about my RS. Having all these parts made of CF would be a nightmare when tracking hard as it would just get chipped and would be a fortune to replace. And the good things is, it's very easy to replace them with CF aftermarket parts for those that do want to.

I agree.. Getting all the plastic trip parts in carbon is great, and i would like to do it myself.

But its also nice to have cheap plastic around so you dont worry as much

Seats are too wide, no factory roll bar, springs are too soft, steering feel, and too many missed weight loss opportunities. Other than that it's a peach.

BTW, nice color choice.

The Performante is about 1.5x the cost of an RS base vs base....really can't compare the two

And as others said if those pieces were CF they would get destroyed and likely look like crap after a while....

Sketchy as hell rear end at limit and rws doing unnatural things to handling feel in certain low speed corners.

It's meant to be a sports car that can be used on track days, why would it be blingy? It's functional foremost and I think this is what makes Porsche GT so great, they're built by drivers for drivers. I'm glad they focus on dynamics rather than wondering how to forge carbon to look like a kitchen bench top.

maybe should be a factory option?
I would not want CF vents, nor splitter/diffuser (had those on my ZR1) as it just gets chewed on on track
GT2RS will be CF vents standard or is that just Weissach package?

Non functional carbon belongs on a blinged out Lambo or Ferrari, not a Porsche GT car meant for the track, IMO.

I'm wrapping a the front lip in carbon to see how it looks. I ordered up all the other pieces in carbon from TechArt. If they get chipped up I can always get another from them. Sorry but the cheap plastic does not belong on this car. Photos coming!

Boccarp: Welcome to the world of PAG. Its a world where peformance is the main focus and any bling you want, and you can get alot of it will cost you $$$$ from PAG as CCX special order stuff or "Exclusive". You want carbon covers for those side views? Sure, $1000.00. Carbon paddles? No problem ..$1900.00. You want special crests on your wheels or embroidery? Sure, $5000. Its endless both in choice and the money you can spend on it. Just open your wallet....wide.

The RS is an amazing car. It punches way above it's weight and the ability to do it lap after lap. That what makes Porsches special and revered.

BTW. LO is faster.

Did a week in my old 997.1 GT3 with the Carrera GT seats.

When getting back to the RS i realized how good the seats in the old car are.
I really must strap me in hard with the 6-pt for it to be OK.

Funny, agree the 991RS seat are too wide, but the seats in my 997.1GT3 really don't fit me, pressing into my shoulder blades. The recaros in the 996RS were the best I've ever had. And that's my only gripe with the RS really. Would have preferred Nomex seat that fit like a glove.
