"That said, the GT3 RS is the less intimidating, more approachable and ultimately more visceral car despite giving up 0.3 second of 0-60 time and nearly 2 seconds around Road Atlanta. While its twin-turbo sibling initially shocked with its thrust and speed, the first blast in the GT3 RS made me want to spike a football and exclaim a four-letter word followed by "yeah." The gloriously mechanical whine it produces builds to a sonorous climax at the 9,000 rpm redline. The turbocharged GT2 tops out at 7,200. The fact that Porsche ripped out much of the sound deadening makes it even easier to hear all this sonorous glory.

The GT3 RS needs to be pushed harder to achieve the same speeds that the GT2 sort of sashays to. Harder means more revs, more sound, more excitement. It's also not scary, and although a different track might put the GT2's power advantage to greater use, I think I'd still get the saner, supposedly lesser version. Then again, it sure is easier keeping up with a racing legend when you have a 170-horsepower advantage."

Sorry if this topic has already been covered to death; however, I am in Canada and am finalizing a deal for a Weissach edition. As you know, North American cars have no access to the rollcage and harnesses.

Any good rollcage with Schroth harnesses combinations for the GT2RS? What about just harness bar and harnesses?

Imola Motor Sports has a scanned roll cage, thinking of having it installed.

No affiliation just know about it.. https://www.imolamotorsports.com

What brand of AGM battery is in the GT2RS?

My CTEK Mus4.3 has a different setting for AGM for Optima and Odyssey.

A GT2-RS...... SHOULD NOT HAVE AN AGM BATTERY!!! Lithium will save you about 35lbs...

But since is does.... its most likely the Banner/Porsche Battery H6/Group48 size. Weighs about 45 lbs. And to take it a step further, it made by Johnson Controls, who make the majority of Auto Batteries and rebrands them for all the major manufacturers, and retailers. So if you do need to replace it you can go with Bosch, Autocraft or even the Walmart "Platinum"... all the same battery, same exact case and handles, same exact Lead interior build.... Just rebranded.

But this one is the cool one...

Thanks for the info.
I went to your website to try and find a lithium battery for the GT2RS and didn't find one. It was actually difficult to navigate. Why not just put a find your vehicle button on the home page?

we do have one in the works and just want to make sure it’s complete as possible, outside of that it’s also a little different for lithium. The modern Porsche cars including the GT2RS will typically have a stock battery mounting plate that allows for an H6, H7, or H8 battery (3 selectable holes for the mounting cleat) they do this since the lead/acid options get bigger in size with more capacity but since lithium isn’t as restricted by the size aspect we can put multiple capacities in the same size casing. So in this case as mentioned earlier we would recommend the H6 for the application. Hopefully that helps explain but please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions at all

Did you see episode 12 of The Grand Tour? They ran a GT2RS against a 917, both with excellent drivers. I won’t spoil the result!
