Just of the phone with my Porsche sales guy: "GT2RS is released on Friday."

Finding it hard to get excited about a car that might/probably will just end up being another 918 VIP Allocation fest.

I didn't care about the R.

But I will likely stand by my word that if I don't get a 991.2 GT2 RS allocation, I might stop collecting Porsches. Yes, it hurts me more than it hurts PCNA and PAG, but collecting is meant to be fun. And it hasn't been fun lately because of these games.

I still think if you are willing to spend that much on an RS with a couple of turbos...they'll build you one. They can't resist the profit margin and they won't sell as many any way because the price of admission is so high and there are real exotics at those numbers.

Not of they're numbered (as they have been in the past). If they don't bring enough, 918 VIP's will just snap them up and flip the ones they don't want. That's what the VIP program inspires. I think it's a great program, but didn't have enough safeguards against this... Or they should always make double the # of VIP's to account for enthusiasts who've been loyal for a long long time but don't own a 918.

(I promise not to devolve this discussion into one on the VIP program -- let's stay on topic.)

I'm not sure how many 918 owners still have the stomach for this...there's another limited car every two weeks and now they can't flip them for a profit for a year...unlike the R where they cleaned up...we shall see...

I mean let's face it...it's such an easy sell when you know you can flip it immediately for a massive profit...play with it for a month or so...then double your money...yeah of course they all bought them...having to hold for a year at this price point without any real guarantees that the demand will be there in a year may keep a percentage of the VIPs on the sidelines.

Yep. True that if it's the 918 VIP thing all over again.

I'm awaiting my broker response. They already sold an allocation from what I was told. If this is a VIP car I'll probably cry lol but at least I can go hard after a 675LT then....

Better start looking for an LT.
