Truth. It's interesting to see people post photos of
their cars here on Rennlist then apparently blame
the so-called 'PTS Whisperer' for misrepresenting
how the color looks in real life! Live & learn!

Does that actually happen?? I've always understood your posts to be freely informative, with no guarantees. Anyone who thinks color decisions are well advised from internet pics alone should really ask a bodyshop to spray a sample for them. That hassle is well worth the $7k (or $13k) it might save someone—but of course even that presents a gamble: As a whole car, with all its shapes, is a very different thing to a small sample.

Many of us moan about the lack of standard colors, standard metallics, and "special colors," but seem to skip over the fact that automotive colors are no easy thing—there is a reason designers are involved in the development of colors and color palates, board members vote on them, etc.

could not agree more! My second trip this year to Exclusive at Stuttgart was with the main focus to double ckeck the color choice I have made earlier the year. You get an idea on photos, but also I guess a color looks different in California or Norway.

Oh man, this was hard! This time they looked different to me...The final two color samples we walked across half of the exclusive production place to see them in different light conditions. Was good fun! The Exclusive guy said you have to have sleepless nights at least 3 days before delivery....

Hi Guys. My first post here. I'm a Porsche enthusiast from Poland (and PTS enthusiast too!). This picture had to be made at the same day I was in Zuffenhausen (20 or 21th October).
This blue Targa should be a Gemini one as I remember. The green one was the 4 GTS and for me it was "Lichtgrun". There also were some others like 4S in Nordic Gold, TTS in British Racing Green, TTS Cab in Voodoo Blue and Signal Yellow GT3.

There were also a mysteriously coloured GTS or 4S and Targa GTS. The first one was like "Salmon metallic". The second one was like "Ivory" or very light yellow. I didn't take pictures (factory line...) but the second one was for US market (orange blinkers). I hope it will shows up at this forum soon

Some of my shots are here:

Sadly, in Poland we still have not the market for PTS cars. It is just to small for them. Only aprox. 150 nineelevens sold this year and about 120 in 2016 (and they are a record numbers!). Happily, the market is still growing.
Back in 2005 there was no Porsche Centre in the Country. Sales in nineties was over a dozen examples per year (sales by official importer). Now we have got six Porsche Centres and over a thousand cars sold per year.

Best regards - Michal (Mick)

I just know it's an approved color formerly
called 'Piet Boon Grey'. It's now called
'Alex Grau' & it is color code Z58.

Piet Boon is a famous design studio based in
Holland. Perhaps they chose this 'grey' color
for a client's project & a Porsche customer
liked it so much he (Alex?) decided to name
his PTS color request 'Piet Boon Grey'. Since
that might be an infringement on Piet's copyrighted
name, PAG switched it now to just 'Alex Grau'!

To further inform on what dark knight
posted, that 'bridge' is the carrier track
for the painted chassis coming from the
paint building way behind Werk I to the
new Mission E assembly building which
I talked about after my visit to Zuffenhausen
in April. Back then that area looked like
this:

Thanks Eduardo for jogging my memory, I forgot the Piet Boon Targa was called the "Alex Edition" — looks like that's one of them, its exactly the same, just hasn't had the "cool" stickers applied (or maybe a smart customer deleted them?).

I think that this particular car (Alex Grey Targa) was already waiting for those awful stickers (IMO). Parking lot was kind of waiting room for cars awaiting exclusive (CXX) treatment.

So here we are, the first PTS green (viper) has been delivered to a PZ in the Netherlands, Porsche Centrum Gelderland.
