There are more than 500 total in the US for the RS - so it's actually the first post and I just was too lazy to edit it. But what's interesting if PAG announces a numbered RS now as MY2016 - the 918 customers are forced to compete with the rest of us commoners...

I doubt it. If a true numbered edition comes out, it's a different edition. Therefore, the 918 VIPs get first bite on the apple.

MY2017 would be a 991.2 GT3 RS. New model.

Let's face it, 918 Spyder VIP's will never be forced to compete with non-918 buyers. Period.

I should've bought two while I had the chance.

The "500 in USA" number to define a special/limited edition must be from an earlier document than 3/19/2015. The March "918 VIP Customer Program Bulletin" document says, "Limited edition/specialty models (as defined by PCNA):" with no mention of any particular number produced.

This is the latest and controlling info. The bulletin also says, "This bulletin supersedes any and all previous communication regarding the 918 VIP program. Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this program and to vary or modify any of the terms and conditions from time to time without prior notice. In case of dispute regarding eligibility or other program terms, PCNA's decision shall be final and binding."

It's from the original marketing materials on the program - so much earlier than that bulletin you just posted. I've not been following it, but had the text handy.

This makes sense, too, as I think PCNA (and PAG) finally realized that they might not be able to do 500 car numbered editions anymore.

With 297 (original, less now) 918 Spyder VIP's in the US, at least half of them will be sorely disappointed when they can't even get a VIP allocation for a 500 worldwide numbered limited edition car (such as the 997.2 GT2 RS, for example). That would've caused a huge stink.

Default 991 GT3 RS - Confirmed Orders

A little change in subject. Any update on LWB availability for the RS? They seem to have suddenly become available for all GT4 and Spyder customers who have spec'd them.

It was my understanding that LWB's were never not available for the GT3 RS.

My order is V110 status because of the LWB (along with PTS). The sales manager was holding back submission because he was told the LWB weren't available for my allocation.

Maybe I'll bug him again to see if things have changed.

That's strange. The reason why they rejected a bunch of GT4's and Boxster Spyder's is because they needed enough supply for their flagship GT3 RS.

I can't remember what V110 means, but V100 is a rejection.

My build date was moved from August to October because of the LWB delay. I was told by my dealer today that there won't be any delays (because of LWB) for September builds onward. Apparently this is the word from Germany. I'm assuming the supply issue is fixed.

From my notes, v110 means the availability of one or more parts needs to be assessed before production can move forward. The buckets supply/demand situation has caused all kinds of delays, as you point out.

I think it may be your PTS. My build (with LWB) was recently moved from October to September so it can't be the seats.
