Default 991 PCCB Replacement rotors are finally here

Front Rotor:

Weight = 15 lbs
OE's pccb = 14.8 lbs;
Iron Rotor: 24 lbs (Center Lock hub)
Iron Rotor: 27.6 lbs (5-Lug hub)

Rear Rotor:

Weight = 14.3 lbs
OE's pccb = 13.3 lbs;
Iron Rotor: 24 lbs (Center Lock hub)
Iron Rotor: 24 lbs (5-Lug hub)

These carbon ceramic rotors are made available through the collaboration of RacingBrake, an US brake company based in Fullerton, CA and Surface Transforms of UK who supplied the CCM-X discs. Rotors are built with exclusive hat and hardware design for optimal cooling and lasting performance.

Rotors are ready to ship!.

Also being released are for those come with standard (iron) brakes either with Center Lock or 5-Lug hubs, and 997 (Turbo and GT3 Gen 1)

More details on retrofit upgrades will follow.

Same CCM-X rotor kits (with option to include RB calipers) are also offered to Nissan GT-R.

Thank you.

Thanks, RacingBrake! Good to know that there are replacements out there that are no doubt more reasonably priced than OE.

The weights you posted are very interesting. Seems to have put to rest the argument that the ceramics in the larger size aren't that much lighter than the iron rotors. Still almost 10lbs weight saving per corner.

10lbs per corner, or 40lbs unsprung rotating mass was always what I had read in various articles...

There was some discussion here that because the new ceramics were considerably larger than the old ones that the difference in weight wouldn't be as much as the generally accepted 10lbs per corner.

Read the first post, he put the weights in there. Infact this entire thread pretty much was to show the weights. Not only did he post the weights of the rotors as well as stock PCCB, he also did more by also posting the steel rotors in both center lock and 5 bolt pattern's weight's. Did you even read the post or did you just read the title of the thread?

RB - thanks for posting and putting the info together. I assume these are rebuildable? What is the expected cost for rebuild?

Could make PCCBs a good option on the RS to get into the 2900 lb realm....

Also any way to change the blue hats?

Since we are in the discussion of the PCCBs and I notice something different about yours, I will like to ask a question.

I was looking at the rotors on mine at delivery, and I notice that the rotors are 'cracked'. This is my first car with ceramic brakes, and there is no other car for comparision. Is this normal?

Here are the pictures

Yes that is normal; mine and all the other GT3 PCCB's I've seen look identical. I can't confirm this with first hand knowledge, but I was talking with someone at Porsche Parade who told me that the Porsche ceramics are heat "tempered" and that the process results in the "cracking".

Perhaps not "cracked" but would you consider "crazed"?
