Pors9 - I know this thread is jumping around a little bit and most of the production volume debate has been on the GT3.1 RS but now I am confused. With respect to the 911R US deliveries you reference as wrong above - I believe about 30% of the 918s came to US so not surprised that about 30% of R units came to US. When you say not correct or even close - what is the number you think it is? Just curious. - Edit - NM found it in your data. your data estimates 191 US and 218 total in North America. Interesting

Good question. Its not about %'s at the end of the day its about absolute unit sales.

To start we need to separate 918 buyers from VIPs. We estimate there are a little over 200 with VIP status in the US. But our database has 300 918's for US delivery. So not all 918 buyers were/are VIPs. And we know some 918's were dealer inventory and not retail orders at all.

Then we have to assume that not every VIP ordered an R. But then add in that, while R deliveries were predominantly to VIP's, not all were as we know dealers bought for their owners (early resales of R's were most probably dealer owner cars - not VIPs willing to blow their status).

Given all that correlating US 918 sales directly to US R sales doesn't work. And %'s of total production have even less meaning. Its just unit sales.

We have 191 R deliveries in the US in our database. That is a number that makes sense to us given the above. And it has nothing to do with % of total global production.

Agreed. the production for US might slow/stop by then, but what happens in RoW isn't easy to see.

Your R database is out of date as well. There are at least 212 R's for NA and I'm not totally up to date.

Pors9, thank you for your permission regarding my beliefs. I'm just trying to provide facts to people so they can decide for themselves. I'm not trying to sell anything.

191 or 210 is NOT 50%
point for Pors9

I guess if +/- 50 percent is what people are looking for then I've wasted so much time. Minus 2 points for me.

I appreciate your data and the effort it takes to get it. But before you made such a statement you should have read more carefully what I posted - I stated 191 for US ... not North America. North America is 218. So you are indeed a few behind.

I have an idea: For every post, and for every minute spent posting about values, production numbers.....and BLAH BLAH...we should ALL SPEND 10 MINUTES DRIVING OUR CARS....

Do radio delete cars still have the speakers installed? Either way, it's 2 cars that no one will want on resale.

Probably better off just leaving the radio on the order; upon delivery, simply remove the radio and install the blanking plate.

Radio Delete
AC Delete
Passenger seat delete, rear defroster delete, glovebox delete, cupholder delete, front emblem delete, center cap delete...

Who knows whether no one will want a car with radio delete in the future?
I would not be so sure as my crystal ball does not tell me.

I'll make the blanket statement, VERY few will want a car with the radio delete and almost fewer with AC delete. It'll make no difference in drivability and saves no money. A double blind test I'm sure will confirm that.

Intermission break:

Pors9: Awesome database! Your data squares with what I know about the limited run of 997 Turbo S Edition Spyder. For the 2012 model year, there were 40 units produced and for 2013, there were 6. Of these 6, 5 are Cabriolets. I might have the last 2013 Turbo S Edition Spyder Cabriolet made. 🤔. Want to check the number of your Porsche, here’s the link:
