Stock rear brakes are too small...you will have issues
Craig,
I do not believe this is true - unless you are referring to a car still using PSM.
We run a very fast, well built Cayman S race car using the stock rear brake calipers and rotor diameter without issue. We do run a 2 piece rotor to aid in cooling, but the size is fine and balances brake temps nicely with the GT3 Cup calipers and 350mm rotors up front. We also use a 997 Cup dual MC setup with properly sized MCs to balance brake torque.
We have removed the stock ABS controller and run a Teves MK60E5 ABS system. The brakes are near perfect.

This is the Teves motorsport system and replaces the stock unit (no PSM or Ice Mode issues). Runs independent of the ECU and uses its own yaw sensor. Works with stock wheel speed sensors which makes the wiring easier. In cockpit adjustable if the car runs a two-way CAN BUS data logger (e.g, Motec and soon to be AiM MXL2).
Very nice progression - I'd suggest you cut off the stalk for the multi function display on the lower left of the steering wheel and replace it with a short rubber nipple because you WILL brake it off when you get into the car one day. With respect to your wing, make sure the upgrights make it high enough so you can look out of the rear window for lapping traffic because you don't want to just rely on your outside mirrors.
Excellent advice on the stalk. I can see that happening very quickly.
The wing is high and out of the way.
Waiting on mcs shocks and full race suspension.

If you haven't already you may want to look into a set of Numeric shifter cables. They are well built and will never break!

I was actually just going to post the same thing. Also - The stock shifter will over time develop some slop so I would also recommend replacing that with the fully adjustable Numeric Competition Shifter. It allows for a more precise shift and is therefore cheap money shift insurance.
I just installed the CAE shifter and cup cables into my car and it is very nice. Expensive, but everything else with this sport is anyway.
Not to thread jack, but last weekend my diff started to spit oil out of the breather cap. It was enough oil, that I had to sit out the last day. The car had been working fine for last few track days and it just developed this problem.
I will drop the car off a the shop this week but has anyone else experienced this issue?
