Default deviated stitching ... cool??

Drove a GTS the other day and the red deviated stitching shown below looked too busy. Leather accent is nice but is all the white, gray, red, yellow, platinum this, platinum that stitching necessary? I can't remember ever paying 25% extra (or regular price) for a deviated stitching jeans

the red is pretty subdued, goes well with the belts and calipers, just my $ 0.02...

I absolutely love deviated stitching. IMO, it just completes the interior. Looks too plain without it. I have it in my Scud and will be ordering it in my GT4.

I have Porsche's deviated red stitching on black and some of my other cars came standard with deviated white stitching on black leather ( MBZ ) and brown stitching on tan leather ( Lexus ) ....but after the first couple days , you don't even notice it anymore because these are all such " generic " combos. Red on black even comes std in many " sporty " 30 thousand dollar cars like Subarus , Mazda or Mitsubishi.

Yellow stitching works , but then clashes with red calipers if you get matching yellow seatbelts

Too bad Porsche doesnt offer brake caliper color option of your choice in red , yellow, silver or black for a few hundred bucks like Corvettes . The Carrera GT had optional caliper color for $8000 for 20 cents worth of paint ,LOL.

i have seen many bad interior or exterior matches vs either the red or the PCCB yellow calipers , like a new GT3 with PTS Gulf Blue and contasting Gulf Orange stock wheels that look awful against the yellow PCCB calipers ..would have been perfect if calipers were painted silver or black , but doing that aftermarket would affect resale I suspect since people like everyone to know they bought the pricy PCCB s.

I think where deviated stitching really " pops " is the way Ferrari does it ...where you can get bright blue stitching on various shades of tan/!brown leathers to match the exterior , as an example

Love the red deviated stitching. Looks fantastic. Adds some visual richness to the interior. Works well w CF trim as well.

My .02 CND.

I initially loved the red stitching but lately it's been overplayed. I had it in my Speed3 and I see it in a plethora of Toyota's, Subaru's, Mitsubishi's etc. I think it looks nice but maybe also somewhat generic. As noted by MKW, using a stitching that matches the exterior color is a very unique way to tie the two peices together.

There is a good point about deviated stitching as far as adding accent but charging $1K+ to change from black to yellow thread?

One thing I notice about cayman interior is that it's a very compact space. Adding contrast thread make it too busy

$1k + for minimum deviated stitching , another $1k + for adding it to the steering wheel, another $5k + to get extended dev stitching in a full lether package, even more $$$ to get it on leather rear hump ....when many $ 30 k sporty cars have almost as much dev stitching standard .....explains why Porsche is the most profitable car maker per unit sold. It has been that way for decades ....actually there were more leather this and that choices in the 80s and early 90s before the 996 era forward.

lol

leather on the rear bumper is a good one. I will opt for basic interior and enjoy the car as it is - it's all about the drive right? My lime rock M3 has no leather dash nor deviated stitching and look perfectly fine

That's one nice looking interior!

with all the hype around GT4 many fail to see the value of GTS. It can be had for less $80K well equipped with cheaper running parts and inexpensive 18" wheel options for track use. It may not be as fast as GT4 but with couple mods to bump up the power and few aero tweaks it will make GT4 work hard to earn it's lunch money

Too much work. I like it all done out of the box from factory.
