FYI RS60 Spyder #1 is currently for sale in Houston. The owner announced it FS to the Lone Star PCA group. I think it's going to go on BAT if it doesn't sell.
The electronic oil meter is really unreliable. If you measured before and after that mountain run, it's always going to be a two bar difference.
I find that it's pretty reliable. What will, however, make a big difference is the oil temp. Because they hold so much oil, a barely warm engine will show a much lower level than a really hot engine. I used to have a 1988 911. It had a gauge that was based on a float and a dip stick. If I drove to the store and back on a day when the temp outside was 60º, the gauge and the dip stick would show one level. The next morning it could be 85-90º and I could jump on the freeway for an hour and the oil level would show higher than the previous day because the oil was hotter and expanded more. Our cars are the same.
When I first got mine, I looked around thinking "surely they are just saving money and time/trouble by not including the dip stick." It appears that is not the case. What I found was that if you had a base boxster or a 987 w/3.2L, you absolutely could add a dipstick. But the block in the 3.4L apparently (base on my research, not dropping the motor) have a spot to put the dip stick. It's a real PITA in my opinion. The gauge in my old '88 was 100% accurate and reliable and could be checked when sitting at a stoplight idling. The gauge in this thing is accurate, but it doesn't take me 5mins to get gas which would be the most convenient time to check. If the timer was 3min, it would be great.
Hey guys, took the Boxster for a ride tonight and the "check engine light" came on. Ugh, guess it could be anything. Any thoughts on what? I'm taking it to my indy for an oil service next week anyway and I'm sure he'll figure it out. Just wondering if anyone else had this come up.
You weren't kidding -- here's a $70k asking price from a dealership in Tacoma Washington -- https://www.porschetacoma.com/used/P...74b9e6ff03.htm
They previously had this listed for NINETY thousand, and listed as just a Spyder (not RS60). Which makes me think they bought this for around 30-40k, and then literally are turning around and listed at 90. These guys are jokesters.
Just checked as I'm looking potentially for an RS60.
Car is still there but "Arrived recently".
Looks kind of worn too.
$60K dealer sale makes me think harder about putting ours on BAT. Just turned 6000 miles, loaded, red top, red interior, very close to flawless. Good oil reports. I do believe the good ones are going to become increasingly more valuable.

Hello:
I purchased #1597 last month from a Porsche dealer with 38,xxx miles.
It is Red/Red with manual shift, navigation, wind deflector & bi-xenon package.
I am a reformed 911 owner and currently have a 2022 Panamera 4s in the other bay.
I do have a question: can you operate PASM separately from Sport mode? Meaning, can you turn on PASM while leaving the sport button off? And can you turn off PASM if Sport is on?
