I replaced my water pump because it was showing signs of weeping coolant at less than 15k miles. The low mileage at 12 years old could have been a factor, but still.

Probably a good idea. While the 9A1 water pump is different from the M97 one in that it attaches to a secondary housing which helps prevent damage to the block with a failed bearing,
they still aren't the most reliable water pump I've seen. Have personally had 2 failures with one thermostat, one on my S and one on my R (although the R was a full time track car for 20K miles)
Problem is they can fail with noise or weeping as you had, or they can release more coolant quickly potentially stranding the car.
For others to be on the conservative side, most seem to last past 60K but imho when you get to 80K you're starting to get to borrowed time.
To have a trouble free car, I look at the 80K major as a MAJOR ie. plugs/coils/water pump/thermostat/shift cables. Someone may be able to stretch these
to 100-120K but then has to ask themselves how inconvenient would an overheat/broken shift cable/CEL for the coils be? Commuting to work or weekend car close to home etc.?

That's what happens when the car sits - the seals don't get lubricated and dry out causing leak.

i've learned this the hard way.... ;(
so now i make it a priority to run my cars at LEAST once per month for 100 miles, at speed, so as to reach operating temperature and saturate all seals and gaskets.
Not today, but a couple days ago I replaced the outdated head unit on my 2006 Boxster S with a Sony XAV-AX4000 unit.
Also, updated the amber corners to clear.
Finally, I just ordered a set of these platinum gray GT4 look wheels:
Will snap some pics once I receive them and they're mounted. These will replace 19" lobster claws.
I also have a Joe Toth rear spolier that I'll probably install at some point here and as soon as renndecals.com comes back online I'd like to get some side stripes ordered up.
I thought the leading and underside sections of my mirror covers were cracking and needing repainting. Turns out a previous owner had put a clear protective film on that area and it had dried and cracked. Took a heat gun, a plastic blade and some Goo-B-Gone and removed it. Mirror covers look like new again!
Did the AX3200 a while back.
What did you use for day/night?
I found a lighting wire going to the lock button just above.
Not sure what you're asking by "day/night", but I paid for the Crutchfield ReadyHarness. Best ~$25 I've spent in a long, long time. They wired the entire harness for me; true plug and play.
Had everything apart and was going to do a new Kenwood head unit at the same time. Had everything from Crutchfield, including the prewired harness, and was all good to go...
But all of a sudden I decided not to replace the existing head unit.
I might decide to do it another time, but in the couple of months I've owned the car, I really have not bothered to listen to music.
I am definitely a music guy and a stereo guy, but I don't think I care too much about it in the cayman.

Same here, and I asked them not to trim any unused wires, but they did.
Does your screen go into night mode when you turn on the headlights?

I'm not much of a music guy, but the factory Bluetooth was just so bad, and also wanted decent nav.
it is my daily driver so hands free phone and texting is important.
