Thanks.....I was referring to the difference of ramps vs tilting the front up toward the drain, which measured out to be 1/2 quart additional fluid.

Now that I think I've found a solution for running race headers, I may never get around to dyno'ing any 'sport' headers.
My/others testing included multiple headers, not only modified factory manifolds.

Well then I'm glad I never bothered with them. Another RL user here in Austin just added 200-cell cats to his factory headers and reports the car sounds even quieter than before.

True the volume difference is subtle but they have a deeper sound more like a larger diameter pipe and
they are a little louder when you're on the throttle but not when cruising so not bad as far as cruising drone.

I bought my car with tinted tail lights. On the black car, it wasn't really my taste so I found a pair of OEM taillights from a user on this forum and finally got around to put them on. New on the left, old on the right. I'll be putting up the tinted lights for sale sometime this Spring.

I prefer the OEM taillights on the left and I think I would on any color car.

just got back to central coast california from a trip to pocatello idaho for three days in my 2007 987.1. travelled via interstate 80 most of the way over, but on the return trip i caught route 88 just south of carson city and followed it over the sierras to stockton. the majestic 20 foot vertical walls of snow, near kirkwood, created by the DOT snowblowers were a delight to drive through.

the only bummer was washing the car four times in three days.

Brought the car (2011 2.9) to my local indy Porsche shop for a track-day checklist (doing a Porsche DE thing next month up at Brainerd Intl Raceway), as well as got a general once-over.

Car checked out perfect, but I did ask about preventative water pump replacement. Car has 40K, original WP, but is minty fresh, and well sorted. No leaks from WP, so I didn't do anything this trip.

Shop would get $1300 all in for replacement with belt.

I'm not a real mechanic, but I know i can do it, having seen a few YT vids on it. (I did my complete cooling system on my E46 BMW a few years back.)

People keep getting mixed up betwen the WP for M97 engine on 987.1 vs MA1 engine on 987.2. The WP on 987.2 is hugely improved and don't share the same issues as the one on the M96/M97 engine.
