Thanks! The stance is probably going to change, I can't see this coexisting with my driveway. It has a TPC suspension on it now, I'm inclined to swap it out for the Cayman R suspension that I know very well.
The car is on its way from LA to Michigan now, bought it off a sometime forum member through Rennlist. It is specced awfully well and uniquely. It's traveled 10s of thousands miles in it's life on ships and trucks. Originally from South Carolina, then in Hawaii, then in California and now to Michigan. I think by this summer it will end up in Maine where we have a place. For sure it has traveled more than it was driven.

Congrats! Nice to see another one coming to Michigan. Waiting patiently to get mine out of hibernation.
I hate to say that I haven't done ANYTHING to my '08 Cayman S in a couple of months. Last summer, I put a new set of tires on the car and decided that (since we don't get extended periods of cold weather in the Texas Panhandle), that I'd put high performance summer tires on. I don't drive an abundance of miles each year so get a set of grippy tires for when I do drive. Got Yokohama Advan Apex and really like them. However, we have had one of the colder winters in recent times (meaning sustained temps below 40 degrees) and I've read that you shouldn't use these tires below mid-40s. So the car has sat for way too long.
Drove mine 100 miles today to pick up a mint '81 5-speed 928 that drives like new and has zero issues, & everything working properly, 92k original miles. WHAT AN AMAZING CAR!!
(928 or Cayman S????)
BOTH OF THEM!

Yesterday I cleaned my street wheels (19" OZ Ultraleggera HLT in Matte Black). I'm not sure when they were cleaned last but they had a lot of brake dust caked on them. I bought a 26" diameter hot water heater drip pan at Home Depot and set up a wheel cleaning station on a folding table in my garage. First, I removed the old wheel weight adhesive with Goof Off. Then I removed the brake dust with Griot's Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner and a small nylon brush. I gave each wheel a coat of Griot's Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax so that hopefully it won't be as big of a project next time. I finished up with a coat of Black Shine on the tires.
This morning I replaced the frunk lift struts. The old one's weren't horrible but once in a while a gust of wind would blow it down, usually when I had my head underneath. The new one's are noticeably stronger.
Unboxed my new seats and started prepping them for install. I'm on WI so probably another 6 weeks or so until the car comes out of storage. I usually feel like the base of the seat is too flat. I ordered some universal seat brackets from summit racing, which was just some angle iron with holes drilled in it. After opening the seats I found the bolt spacing was 13"and the brackets were also 13"so those weren't going to work. So I ran to lowes and got some 1.5"aluminum angle to fab up my own. I have Planted brackets that I'm hoping I can bolt the bracket directly to. Although I may have to install sliders just to have access to the mounting bolts. Was also able to get the exact fabric used on the seats. Going to get a custom shift boot made with that and have enough I might try to use it for the engine cover as well.

Thanks. I really didn't want to do another autox season with the stock seats. I really liked the look of these and they have some pretty good bolstering. The seats are probably my least liked thing with my car currently.
