Happy I kept my Spyder - nothing here makes me want to move on (particularly the new butt). If you missed the 981 Spyder, cat is now out of the bag - grab yourself a 718 Spyder or maybe a used 981 (quite the price jump)

the GT3 front end suspension would be nice to have - if on the track

interesting how the pendulum swings - people now eager for the pdk, last time GT4 had the manual that people jumped It seemed driving demand

perfect pairing - Spyder and GT3

I was hoping for more. Replaced my 15 GT3 for my 981 Spyder and loved the overall experience but missed that GT3 powerplant. With advent of the 6sp manual available in the improved GT3, I could not resist and traded my Spyder for one.
The new version won't have enough to get me to change back but I'll always admire them with great memories. Definitely one of my best motoring experiences.

+1

these cars are pure joy to drive; best smile/$ ratio you can find; get out and drive.

Not exactly RS + Spyder but close enough for govt work — thought I’d share what I wrote in another thread after driving my 6gt3 and 987.1 Box S back to back:

https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...l#post15940953
“Yesterday drove the 6gt3 then the Boxster, back to back on the same backroads, 1hr each. Both so Porsche, so engaging, so sublime, yet each in its own very distinct way. The 6gt3 sharp, tight, hard, raw, visceral, mechanical, all growly and Mezger-y. The Boxster softer around the edges, yet playful, tossable, nimble, open top. The little Boxster not giving up an inch to its bigger brother, even in (pre-DFI open top) sounds and sheer speed. I kept thinking these may be THE two best cars for my backroads, period.”

I think the 981 Spyder is the best looking of the 3, and is the keeper. Some will move to the next gen, but I don’t see enough incremental to drive me to purchase. I traded mine for my GT3RS, and with prices coming down I figure I can always find a low mileage one down the road. Great car for all the owners .......Porsche was afraid to do more with the motor not to kill the GT3(:

I feel the exhaust setup could look better, it does not fill the space cleanly in the rear diffuser

I agree. It's a round peg in a square hole.
