Those exhaust tips are shiny. Is that optional? Don't remember seeing in the Configurator. Racing Yellow is an interesting color. Under certain lighting conditions, it looks too washed out. Super sharp nonetheless.

Good eye, Henry. I notice that, too. Unless I missed it, chrome tips are not an option on the 718 as they were on the 981. Pity because they stand out nicely in the pic above against that big black diffuser. Otherwise, in most 718 pics you can't even see the black exhaust tips because they get totally lost in the diffuser.

Chrome tips are a must-have on the 718 IMO to break up that massive black diffuser and I'm sure will be available aftermarket or perhaps there are Porsche tips that will work on the 718. Can't understand why they aren't offered as an option.

I agree... chrome tips look good... like them more than the black. Image is a photoshop btw. Stated in the Instagram post.

Totally agree, Nick. Shiny tips are a must to complement the aural drama. Hope our board-sponsoring vendors are listening!

Im on a list at my local dealer for the 718 Spyder. I’m just wondering how this fabric roof held up against time with the 981 Spyders.
I street parked mine for 2 years in London with no problems. Had to clean off some slight green moldy/mossy looking stuff around where the plastic rear window met the fabric top. But it wiped off easily (coulda been pollen also?). I didn't baby mine AT ALL. it was parked and driven in all elements with no problems at all.

Actually it has one very minor design flaw that needs to addressed to avoid wear... search for 981 Spyder soft top premature wear ... there I've documented the case.. good news you can prevent this happening by just putting a tape or Velcro on the inner part of the top.. otherwise a very durabLe top

I'm lovin the spyder but not the rear diffuser , it's the only turn off for me. I'm considering one and hopefully a after market diffuser will be offered .

Nice! I caught a live glimpse of it on-line going around the course. On video it sounded ok. How'd it sound in person?

Like you mentioned, it sounds OK. Not as glorious as the 3.8 ( 981 ). Obviously, that’s all due to new emissions and regulations, Porsche has to follow.

I believe once aftermarket tuners start producing new exhaust systems for the 718 GT4 & Spyder, you’ll have a glorious soundtrack coming out of that NA 4.0

I hadn't appreciated just how awful that rear diffuser is. So bad it reminds me of some of the gratuitous plastic body panel moldings from GM such as 90s and early 2000s Pontiac Grand Prix, or Pontiac Bonneville. Given that it's a Porsche it must be purposeful, but my gosh it's bad looking. Do they offer it painted as an option as they have in the past? I hope they do nothing to bring further attention to it.
