Thanks.
A couple more Chalk pics in this GT3 thread at post #939 and #942:

It's almost impossible from pics to get a true sense of certain colors and this is probably true even more so with grey tones such as SC, Fashion and Chalk.

Not going to lie. When the 991.2 GT3 debuted last week, I was getting the itch. I put my name down for one... I'm 22nd on the list. I do think I would regret selling the Spyder for the GT3. The Spyder makes so much more sense for my needs. The open air feeling, handling and acoustics make it a experience that can't be replaced.
I do have my name down for the 982 Spyder, but I don't think that's going to happen for me. I can't get over the the rear tail lights... They bug me design wise. I feel like the evolution of the 911 is going more in the direction I like, where the the 718 is going the opposite direction for me. Maybe that was what Porsche intended... get us into 911's. I'm staying put with my 63A for now... it's going to be hard to replace. I dialed it exactly how I wanted.

Donavan I have also been eyeballing the new GT3. It's the first time (other than the R) that Porsche has caught my attention with a new release. I like the new Spyder but like you I feel like it's going in the opposite direction of what I really want. The new GT3 on the other hand offers a lot of what I want. The only issue I still have is it's overall size and weight. If they could just make it smaller I might be convinced.

Update on the Chalk vs. Sport Classic Grey.
I managed to get out to my dealer today and compare the Chalk paint sample against my PTS Sport Classic Grey 981 Spyder. The colors are almost identical in terms of darkness. Only difference is Sport Classic has a Blue/Green cast, where the Chalk color has a slight tint of red/yellow. Now we need to do the same with Chalk vs. Fashion Grey.
Here is a quick iPhone shot for your reference:
It's a nice grey. Had it been available when I ordered my Spyder, I don't think wouldn't have ordered Sport Classic Grey. I would have more than likely ordered Nardo Grey instead?

Agreed that it would be hard to justify a PTS color that is so close to a color the car is regularly available in.

Bought another Spyder!!!
1:18 Scale Replica of my PTS 981 Spyder! Just completed by Steph in France. Should arrive soon. Nice way to celebrate my 1 year delivery anniversary! Who'd thought I would keep a Spyder for a complete year!

When the GT3 991.2 launched I admit I had the itch... but it wore of very quickly. The Spyder is truly special and Porsche has a tough job replacing it. Satisfies all your senses at a very reasonable price (by Porsche standards).

I may go the other direction and add a less expensive toy to the stable that I would be ok with taking to the track like a Miata.
That's a great replica by the way, I may have to do the same at some point!
