Default Just got my 981

Aqua/Blk, PDK, Premium Pkg

Love it though have not wrung it out yet. It's cold here and need to break it in a bit

Anyway, is there a lowering kit that anyone knows about? The wheel wells are so above the tires it's a shame. Having had a Spyder I know what a huge difference 20mm can make in this car...

Thanks in advance...

First of all congrats on the purchase !! Can't wait to see some pictures when you get a chance We offer H&R Sport Springs which lower it in the front and rear 1" inch. Click Here for more information.

Congrats and welcome back to the boxster world. Did you option the car with PASM? PASM drops the car 10mm, and doesnt make the fender gap as bad. A big selling point for PASM, IMO. Post pictures when you get a chance!

Thanks Joe! Yeah, I missed my Spyder. However the new one is really great and somewhat more comfortable inside.

No, no PASM but I think I'll try ECS's springs. The car is so sensitive to small changes... the dopes delivered it with 42 lbs all around and I'm driving it and saying to myself, "I do hope I get used to how hard the ride is", didn't remember that from the test drive.

Checked the pressure and almost shyte. 42lbs and it's 20 deg F outside...!!!

Dropped it to 33 and it was a totally different car. The Spyder was the same, any little change was felt immediately. Much more critical than a 911.

OEM sport suspension gets you 20mm lower:

That looks like a great way to go, that way you have struts that are matched with the spring rates.

Couldn't agree more. I thought about getting the sports suspension to lower the car by 20 mm but the roads in my area just aren't good enough to enjoy a car with sports suspension. Moreover, PASM provides the softer suspension for normal cruising, but the sports mode is available when you need it.

Just catching up with this thread.
Alan's recommendation would have been mine, too.

We talked about this last fall when the option was announced by Porsche UK:

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/...-sport-chassis

Has anyone on Rennlist been successful in getting this option on his/her 981 or 981S? Any feedback on how well it works...or not?

Saludos,
Eduardo

PS Herman, nice to see you back...on a 981? Where are you going to fit two sets of twins on that car? Did you trade your GTS? Are you on a waiting list for a 991 gt3?

The GTS went away last fall. Too rough...

Well the kids helped me pick it out. I was going to bite the bullet and get an M3Cv, squish and all, but they liked the Boxster (so do I!). Let them pick the colors

Thanks for asking...!

Good for you. But I thought the whole reason you got rid of the Spyder was because it didn't have rear seats.
