I recommend an index on the site, structured and organized in the same format as the Mitchell Parts and/or Mortor manuals. Having a VIN search feature would allow the flexibility and consistency when an addict is in need for specific information relating to their model. The VIN is the bar code to all information one may require for any owner.

Sounds like they are way too busy to spend the 2 minutes to create the appropriate categories for the new Porsche series...much easier to just blame the users and members for not posting enough.

The continued slowdown in postings and the migration to other boards will just _prove_ to them they were right all along.
A page from "the beatings will continue until morale improves" school of business.

I will be buying the wife a new Cayman when they come out...what is the best board out there for me ?

If it's a Cayman S, then use the Cayman S board. If it's a base Cayman, the 987 board. If it's the new 981 Cayman, well, you're SOL.

Best,
Follow up question Bob:

I've been wondering why the 991 isn't listed on the menu yet. See attached photo.

Why not consolidate things a bit?

Two forums would be sufficient:
- mid-engine sports cars
- the other stuff

Why no comments from you guys on RL response to the 981 forum you have been proposing? You now have a 987-981 forum!

What, is this the first time you've been here? It wasn't here this morning. All they did was rename the 987 forum. They DID NOT do that with the 991, they made a whole different sub forum.

Lame move in my opinion and serves to increase confusion for new members. I can't count how many people are posting about the 987 and 981 on the Boxster forum because they may not know the Porsche model numbers. For example: https://rennlist.com/forums/boxster-...clear-bra.html or https://rennlist.com/forums/boxster-...n-houston.html or this https://rennlist.com/forums/boxster-...an-s-rear.html and that's just on the first page from today.

The right way.
986 Boxster (98 - 04)
987 Boxster / Cayman (05 - 12)
981 Boxster and Cayman (Current)

Why can't there be a 986, 987, and 981 forum? The total number of forums would be the same since it's currenty boxster/s, cayman S (wtf?), 987

LOL.

I agree that continued obstinance about the senseless forum divisions is incredible... Seriously, if there is a Cayman S forum, where the hell is Cayman (base) forum? Boxster/S forum??? Am I supposed to post there or in 987??

Imagine my confusion when I first began reading here, though that was before 981/991 was even rumored and before I officially registered (long before I began to post). Maybe I was reticent about posting because I was scared of posting to a wrong forum!!

As far as traffic and # of posts, are you telling me that Carrera GT forum is deluged and full of hourly posts? If so, where is GT1 forum?

Makes NO SENSE! The 987 is more similar to the 986 than it is to the 981!

Someone with common sense needs to sort this all out. I've said it before but I'll repeat it again:

There's a separate forum for the cabriolet (986, 987) and a separate forum for the coupe (Cayman)?

A little consistency would be appreciated all around.

Clearly Rennlist has no interest in cultivating the Boxster/Cayman forum growth which doesn't make sense to me. Based upon what I've been reading in the magazines and online and at dealers, the Boxsters popularity is increasing since it is geared more sports oriented. Oh well.
