Run flats are brutal...Came with my F32 and I couldn't get them off the car fast enough....they were loud boat anchors

PSE is an easy install you can do yourself. Updated my 2014 CS MT in January and love it. Plan for $300 dealer fee to program it to work with Sport Plus.

Default Favorite mod

I installed my favorite mod to date, SRP (Sullivan Racing Products) pedals. I've installed them on any / all performance vehicles I've had for the last 10 or 15 years...since first discovering them.

They're really nicely-made (in the US) with all kinds of options to suit your needs...the service / interaction with owner is always a treat...and they really elevate the driving experience / connection with the car. My feet love them ;-)
(but I'm also one of those guys that loves to watch videos of Colin McRae's feet in action...)

There's nothing like a good set of pedals to connect you to the driving experience. I'm not a fan of any rubber or any squishiness / play in pedals and full metal is a must for me. The Numeric Racing pedals are direct replacements for the factory pedals. The brake pedal is larger which is a plus. Everything feels very solid and ergonomic, I'll never go back.

These fit 981, 718, and 991 cars and they're available here in silver and black for both PDK and manual. The MSRP is a bit steep - we know - so if you'd like a good forum discount please shoot us a message!

I looked at these. I prefer the SRP's (my feet have only touched the Numeric's in a parked car so I haven't had the driving time that I have on SRP's which I've owned multiple sets of over a long time)...but you can also get different sizes / surface patterns / etc to suit your needs. The price difference of ~$300 is certainly hard to justify.

Love the look of those pedals, and have heard only positive feedback about them. Are they any easier to heel-toe with than the OEM pedals? I personally find the OEM brake pedal a bit too high compared to the accelerator to heel toe properly.

The pricing is unbeatable, though it seems you have to drill through the pedals.

Upgraded my Sports Design Steering Wheel to 991.2 Alcantara SW w/ red stitching, MF and SC Dial. Replaced my black SC face guage to Guards Red and I also blacked out my air vents trim. Shoutout to @Emosgarage for the idea. Loving the new interior look. Also liking the grip on the alcantara compare to my leather steering wheel.

Yes, you drill though the clutch pedal, which is plastic, and the brake pedal, which is metal. it's very easy to do. And, yes, it makes all your footwork better...you can set them up just about any way you like. They make a 'loud' pedal with a bigger extension that I use...I use the one with the smaller extension. they biggest different, when it comes to rev-matched shifting, is how confident I feel with my right foot hanging way off the side of the brake pedal because the edge is so crisp / edgy...the stock pedals are more rounded (don't provide as positive a feeling of the edge) and smoother (which reduces confidence).

The brake pedal being too high, to me, is more of a function of the fact that for most street driving, it's harder to get deeper into the brake pedal (thus bringing it more in line with the loud pedal).

As we say in the Georgia mountains, "Gut me sum new tars.." Went from PS 4S's to PS AS 4's. I'm happy.

The stock bolts were looking a little rough, fresh ACER Racing titanium lug bolts look great and drop just over a pound of weight. Small fish in a big pond, but it all adds up.

Default Air filter change attempt

Tried to install a set if AFE dry filters. Failed. Does not seal and mounting hardware pulled out from filter. Staying with stock filters

Hey @TMc993,
We went with the PS AS 4's on my son's Miata and they are probably the best tire I have ever driven on. Quiet, grippy, smooth, tactile, and long lasting. They also were extremely good value at $580 installed for 17s. We do not get winter here in AZ but we do get a bit of rain and they are excellent in the wet. We have not gone auto crossing yet and I am anxious to see how they hold up. Not expecting much but I am still curious.
I am in the camp of loving the Pirelli's on my CPO BS but will probably get the AS 4's when the time comes. I like the longevity and value. Kudos!

any sense of flat spotting with the AS4 on the miata? i got them recently on my 986 and they feel lumpy for the first few miles. not great since i only drive it on short trips

(981 content…just got PS4S for my 981GTS)
