Nice, will you do the caliper rebuilds? I have done this on other cars but not the 968s.

Got my new fuel pump in today and installed. Cracked open the line at the motor and then jumped power to the pump by removing DME relay and inserting jumper wire. Walla, pumped out some old stuff in line from back. Put line back together and the 968 from the Lagoon started up and was alive. Let motor warm, shut down and did a fresh oil change. Started back up, sounded very quiet, expected a bit more lifter chatter, perhaps waiting for lifters to pump up but none of that really. Has a bit of a hesitation upon moving the throttle, figured Im going to send the injectors off to Witchhunter to get cleaned and tested. Had a warble sort of sound when you blipped the throttle, almost like listening to one of those Subaru's rev up, did not sound like the other 968's/944's.

I will rebuild the brake calipers and get some tires and wheels sorted out while the injectors get cleaned. Has sat for 5-10 years and why Im going to send the injectors out for cleaning/testing.

Clearly will need a timing belt and balance belt. Pump and rollers and head were all done 10,000 miles ago but many years ago. Waiting for all that paperwork from the PO on the head and last major work.

Nice work John! What a great feeling to bring one back to life. But they do have great fuel injection systems which helps. Keep us posted.

That car appears to be a big money pit! I'd only put that much effort into a 968 if it was yellow!

Because 1 of 10 is soooo much more meaningful than 1 of 2.

OD

Its not Ice Green and the color is just OK. If I keep it I will drive the **** out it on the track.

A comment Thomas Ryan said once about enjoying working on them more than driving them describes me too. So I like doing this and that to this car. It would be an enormous money pit if I had to pay to get this work done by others.... right now the pit aint so big and Im enjoying myself. The body work part may be where Im stumped...never really tried any. The beauty of this car is I can hardly hurt it by trying.

Loved your 993 light mods on the Sledge hammer, now that takes real stones to carve the fenders of a car that nice and pretty. If your ever passing through the DC/N VA area with some time to kill you have a couple beers on me to see that monster!

But the rare color won't hurt your investment of both time and money. Buyers like unique cars and this one sure is. For an eighties color, I kind like it.
