That looks like a great “starter” 968. I’d drive the **** out of that. Don’t see anything that isn’t a Saturday afternoon project.

That Amazon Cab looks like it was in even hotter sun than my 200k mile Cab was here in GA. I have been trying to unwarp most of my interior parts. Notice how warped the back shelf over the cab mechanisms gets. I have mine pretty straight now, if i can figure out how to remount it (when they warp the attachment points break). Getting a repaint, so maybe I'll try to leave the car covered most of the summers at least. Those recovered side piped light gray seats are nice.

Hammer Down. Amazon cab sold for $ 12,100 Personally I think that was a steal for such a pretty color albeit higher miles with original Cup 1's. Had belt service in the past fall. That car is ready to drive, probably needs a top but if you have a garage you can just leave it down !

That was a steal for that 968 cab. Great unique options and original documentation as well.

I think you would spend a lot of money getting that cab to the shape you would want. Hard to find a dash and then it has to be installed.

Basically that pretty convertible needs an entirely new interior. No fun and $$$.

Or, a dash mat and some eBay seat covers and drive the heck out of it.

I agree that Amazon Green car seemed a nice deal. But it's hard to decide what a long way from being a "nice car to take to rallies, etc" car is worth. I agree, get some seat covers since those light gray seats are so hard to take care of. I could only find a "944" dash cover. That was not the issue, but it's very hard to get a good fit. The cover did drastically improve many of my car rattle noises too! I think the main part of the top is just wrinkled in the pics from being down, and the window is clear. Just try to clean up some of the interior of the top issues and wait until the rear window clouds up to replace full pieces. About that time it might be ready for a repaint (that's what I did with my similar car).

I replaced my top with an intention of selling it. TBH, if I was going to keep it and drive it, I would have just cut the clouded rear window out and driven it. Of the 35K miles I’ve put in my car, <1,000 are with the top up. I generally put it down in the spring when I get it out of storage then back up when I put it away in the fall. Having a crappy top with no rear window for rain emergencies wouldn’t bother me one little bit. Besides the window, my top wasn’t bad. And some vinyl and Velcro would have made a fine window substitute. This little tear and a torn corner of the window were the only things wrong with it. The window had yellowed significantly by the time I replaced it.

The one I got from CoverCraft was perfect. I never used it, because I keep my car out if the sun.

Sorry Dlear, I was not really talking about a dash mat, but a full plastic cover. You are correct, just slap a simple dash mat on it and be done with it.

D L Earl. I know it’s hard to tell a lowercase L from a one.

And btw, other than the cracked dash and the warped plastic on the windshield frame, nothing wrong with that interior. I went back and looked and sure thing, a little touch up paint, a color correction, ceramic coat, and a dash mat and that thing would be almost as nice as my 80,000 mile garage queen. I’m sure the windshield plastic wouldn’t be hard to source from anyone with a parts car, even if you had to repaint it. I think $12k was a dang good deal. Nothing wrong with a 150K mile Porsche, as long as it’s been relatively well maintained.
