Default Legroom

Anyone know if the seat rails in a 968 are similar to those in a 993 where you can mount your seat back further to a rearward set of holes for the mounting bolts? There is a thread about this in 993 forum. Apparently you can gain about an inch of rearward travel for the seat thus extending legroom by same.

I don't think so, there are 2 holes in the front and 4 in the back. You can't skip any. I will have to check the thread but but should the same case with the 993 as well.

I did this with my 993 and it is great. Haven't found that I needed it on my 968 though. And I'm 6'8" tall.

Probably more needed on the 993 for the ackward pedal actuation in comparison to 968's.

Yes. I also did this on 993. And yes the 968 has more room but there are times on longer drives when I would like to move the seat back a bit more. I'm guessing the tracks on 968 are same as 993 just wondered if anyone can confirm. There is plenty of room behind the seat on 968 for it to move back further.

There's no way, short of fabrication to move the 968 seat rails back.

I am 6'6" and find the far-back position is just fine even on looong drives.
I have manual seats which put me lower down though, with power seats I would hit the sunroof with my head.

I've yet to find another car with the kind of legroom and seating comfort as the 944

I am 6'5", have a 944, Recaros, no sunroof, small Momo steering wheel and a steering wheel extension.

I installed the Recaros to get my head out of the roof. The company that installed the seats did custom fabrication in order to maximize my legroom. They had the car 2 days for the install.

The seat and steering wheel work made the car drivable, but it is not comfortable for me. I prefer my Chevrolet Suburban or BMW 7 series for trips.
