Did you swap out the inserts your self?
Did you change the springs?

Indeed. While the rest of my Sport had M030 set up (sway bars, castor mounts etc plus Superpro bushes) the shocks did need replacing. So stuck to the M030 list and also had adjustable Konis fitted all round followed by a complete regeo. Night and day difference. So much feel and feedback and very chuckable now - sticky Goodyear Asymmetrics helped as well of course.

Yes I did the swap myself. I just borrowed the spring compressor. That's what I needed external.
It took me around two hours to complete the whole job. In my garage I have a car lift, which makes things like this easier. The interesting thing is, to get the inserts out of the strut tube you have to cut off the top of the tube.
I did not change the springs, since they still look very good.

Excellent, the sticky Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric is what I run too. +1

Put the pages from shop manual on this subject in a 4 page PDF Hard to do without taking door panel off IMO as the wire to the door handle is lashed down in like 3-4 places along the bottom of door. Some people slice the bottom edge of gasket so they dont have to actually thread the wire through the gasket. I did not do this but can see how it would save much time and would be difficult to detect.

The larger door handle gasket can be slipped over the small end of the handle.

Thanks jsheiry, but that shop manual makes it look way easier than it was. Good idea about cutting the new gasket.

Isn't that always the case?

I just picked up my first 968 and both door handles are loose. Could you recall where you obtained new gaskets? My speakers don't sound great either so it looks like I'll be following in your footsteps! Looking forward to joining the 968 community!

Congrats on your new car! Post some pics when you can. If your on the west coast I would try Sonnen https://www.sonnenporscheoemparts.com/ If your on the east coast I would use Delaware https://www.delawareporscheparts.com/ They seem to work on similar margins that most others dont get close to IMHO. But I would first try your local P car establishment and see if you cant get them to keep up with Sonnen or Delaware pricing. I prefer local if possible, I tried hard to get my local guys to help me and they nearly laughed at the thought so I have used Sonnen and Delaware ever since.

Yes Congratulations!

I'm in a similar situation, hence my nickname.

Hi,

The gasket part numbers are:
944 537 621 00
944 537 622 00
944 537 631 00
944 537 632 00

They are inexpensive so just hit you local dealer. I also cut the rear gasket in the center at the bottom with a new razor blade. The pins on the handle will keep the gasket in place and you won't be able to tell. Still, I am puzzled by your loose handle issue. The gasket is there for a clean look and don't really impact how the handle is seated to the door. You may just need to tighten things up.
Good luck.

Jeff, I think the gasket provides a small level of padding. I am seeing the same issue on the one I just got. Gasket is shot and there is play.

Picked up an OEM, NIB 968 bra. Doubt I'll use it, but I like having some of the more unique parts!
