Default Veteran 968 owners

In honor of Veterans Day tomorrow, it would be interesting to see how many 968 owners have served in the US Military. I will start out first:

- Redbaron: served in the USAF for almost 9 years. First tour was at 6913th Radio Squardron Mobile in Bremerhaven, Germany.
- Second tour was as Squadron Interpreter in Bremerhaven.
- Final tour was as Weather Equipment Technician at 6th Weather Squadron Mobile at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma with TDYs in Alaska, Fanning Island, Fort Huachucha and Ghinnir, Ethiopia (great places to spend 6 months - lol).
German wife finally gave me an ultimatum get out of the USAF or I go home to Germany! Chose to return to PA.

Don, according to my calendar Veterans day is November 11th, but it is still very cool that you spent that much time in the military. I hope to get to Germany someday.

Jeff,

Clarification - I meant to say - how many veteran owners do we have on this site since tomorrow is Armed Forces day. Sorry for the word mixup. See you tomorrow in Newtown. So who else served in the Armed Forces?

I served 20+ years in the US Air Force. Many different areas in the States / Sembach, W, Germany 62 - 65 / Naha, Okinawa / Flew in Combat in Vietnam 66 - 67 / South Ruslip,England / Rimini, Italy / Retired from USAF in 1978. I would not change a thing.

Cheers,

When I saw the headline I was ready to type 'I've been involved in the 968 community since before 2000, and attended the first US 968 specific gathering in 2000.'

I never served, but did have a draft card, luckily with a high number. Thanks all who did!

I had a draft card with lottery number 39 drawn in 1972. Nixon ended the draft a few weeks after I was inducted, but before I took the oath. Thanks to all who did serve.

Entered USAF in 1987. Separated in 2002. Now, full-time member of Montana Army National Guard.

Multiple overseas 'tours' with interesting missions (USAF). One year tour in Baghdad 2006-2007.

968 owner since 1999.
