Default Drove both cars on the same day for the first time

The 928 is now back on the road. What a disaster I had with it but it could have been a lot worse. Something got into the intake when I had it off. I thought I was carefull but obviously not carefull enough. I ordered a new valve and had the other 3 valves for that cylinder worked. At least for something positive I got a new head gasket out of the deal. Here is a pic of the car. It is in nice original condition with 110K. The car pulls hard. It is a very nice compliment to the 968. Both are great cars but very different. The 968 has snappy quickness and the S4 pulls like a jetliner at take off.

That is in the back of my mind. I think for the most bang for the buck I am leaning towards SC on the 928. It has the squirter block engine that everyone says is great for boost.

Nice S4 you got there, no need to SC that thing leave it alone, you got enough power to scare youself silly, once you reach top speed with it come back & tell me I'm wrong. My buddy just got himself one last fall ,a 1990 low mileage japaness import ,had a good deal on her $13,000K .Spend an extra $700.00 to make sure all maintenance was up to date.He is coming up here in a couple of weeks I'm really looking forward to try it out & put my foot to it.Lol he didn't get shy when trying my 968 it will be my turn. There it is.

That is a great color for an S4. Is it a 5 speed? The 5 speed is really different than the 968 6 speed. It has a really long dog leg gearbox. Not the quickest tranny ever made but it seems to suit the entire muscle car feel of the car just fine. As I said earlier, it just feels like a jetliner on take off. Not quick but it's legs are relentless.

Great looking car. Those wheels are ATS's, got a set of them that I took off when I got the Kineses wheels. Your's is the only other set I've seen on a Porsche.

It's been a couple of months since I've driven my old man's 928 S4, which is an '87 with 5-speed. I just remember it having SUUUPER tall gears, lots of torque at all times, and the ugliest tail pipe ever (lol, I'm getting him a RMB for his birthday).

My dad would quip that my 968 has vw suspension and rides as such, and sounds like a hair dryer.

So which one do you like more? Which one do you drive more?

Definetly driving the S4 more at this point since it is the new hot girlfriend. I love the ride of the S4 and I love the cornering ability of the 968. As far as sound I just finished my exhaust and the S4 rumble is straight from God. I have no Cats, Flowmaster 40 muffler and X-pipe. The Flowmaster went into the original resonator spot so I basically have RMB. Here are a few pics to give your old man some ideas. I got rid of the dual and went with 3 in. single after the x-pipe.

rgs944___ Has you probably know my buddy came down (or up) with is S4 last week .Had a chance to try it out LOL what a shove in the back when I step on it ,had forgotten how fast they can be since it's been a while that I've driven one, anyway I knew he wouldn't leave a good thing alone for long (his that type of guy) so take a look at the hood. The excuse for the vents is that it does dissipate the motor compartement heat??? since he does lot of city driving with it.Next on is list is a GTS rear spoiler sitting in his garage ready to be painted.Hope he doesn't turn this one into the monster his S was.You think those vents does the job he mention, even though it's not the first time I've seen them on a 928 I got my doubts.

I have read a lot of threads on the value of hood vents and I am still confused. I think they do look nice. I think most non-Porsche car guys would recognize them as aftermarket, but they are tastefully done. Does he have stock suspension?

They are at least in right place. There is low pressure area right there which helps hot air from headers to move out of engine bay.
