Good enough for me

To get back on topic, I found a couple more pics of my car in the bowels of rennlist, before I did anything to it. These pics show Horizon Blue pretty accurately.

I think they actually look pretty good. They remind me of the 924 and its "tarantula" wheels, which is a nice connection. Are they from a Cayenne? How heavy?

I love Guards Red! I just hate how it turns pink if you don't slave over it.

I know I'm late to the game, but I can't stand the sister car to our Cassis Red Metallic 968 cab. I don't know why in God's name both cars wound up with hideous chrome wheels, but we're in the process of fixing that! Unfortunately, the Cassis Red is very finicky when it comes to lighting conditions and actually capturing the correct color. But, here's our car in both cloudy and sunny weather:

wow !! (why Rubystone Red, of course) !!

people seem to hate on chrome wheels. i've liked them on a few cars... w/ your Cassis Red car they look fine.... i also think the SSR wheels look very good in chrome. (i used to have photos of chrome SSRs on a Turquoise Green 993). quite nice. i don't think the wheels look all so bad on this Grand Prix White example either (for sale in New York a few years ago).

Chrome should be strictly limited to wire wheels and old 356-style wheels, like the ones with those chrome hubcabs.

I like rubystone red, but in some lights it can look really purple which doesn't look as nice, to me.

I used to have chrome wheels on my 951. I liked them, but in hindsight I would have gone with something different. The look did get old to me, and they were waaaay to hard to keep looking clean, especially if you drive hard.

Ramius,
Here's your "sister" car in WA. To think they only made 2 of these and we have them both on this thread. But your car has the much cooler interior!!! (The only NA 968cab produced with light gray/classic gray FULL leather interior)

Also found this 92 cab for sale in London Ontario (Black with gray seats -red piping) but can't really define the carpet color ? Maybe Jeff can chip in.

Ernie,
You'll like this. That is the standard classic gray. You may have heard that the classic gray changes into many different colors over time depending on what interior material you are looking at. The carpets go kinda Purple. But i still like that better then the brown that the hard plastics turn into.

And I hope that the other owner will come up on this board at some point. I'd really love to get a shot of both cars together. Every once in a while my wife and I will run in to another Porsche is Cassis Red and we'll chat with the owners about how much fun it is to have a rare and interesting color. But I think across the board most owners agree that the color is very difficult to photograph. Maybe we'll have a pro do it at some point...
