still no joy.... we're (well, Doug) gonna dismantle the front (GTS) blacks tomorrow and see if we can get them right.

Would you believe I put lart951 and Odurandina in the same parking lot and the world did not end. They actually got along great. And here I thought oil and water didn't mix.

Picked up an M030 swaybar to finish off the list of things I was supposed to do to the car and made an appointment with the local Porsche club race shop to get the car aligned.

Finished out the week by cleaning up the front calipers and getting the rotors to spin freely. Also put together another shopping list of small parts.

Allen then terrorized my neighborhood with his new toy. Made five or six passes up and down my street until the guys from the motorcycle gang a few door down thought they may have some competition.

Still not sorted, but miles away from when it got here.

Speaking of UFO sightings, on Thursday, March 13, 1997, I was north of Needles, AZ with a group of Boy Scouts, canoeing down the Colorado River. We had gotten a late start and were still on the water long after the sun went down. As one of the adult leaders I knew we were in trouble.

We were paddling single file along the California side of the river in utter darkness. No sunlight, no moonlight, nothing. All of the sodden we could see a formation of lights above us. It looked like it was miles across in the sky. It was a triangle shape, or delta looking configuration that was pointed north. It moved side to side without changing it's direction. Hard to tell the scale of it, but it was like looking up at a mountain top moving about.

Needless to say we were all freaked out. I think there were something like 30 of us on the trip. If it was a hallucination, it hit all of us at the same time. It wasn't until we got home four days later that we saw on the news this event called "Lights over Phoenix".

Think about how far apart Needles and Phoenix are from each other. Freaky

....and if you want to talk about JFK.....My mother's maiden name is Kennedy.

I'm not big on UFO's, like RedUFO used to be....

however, I used to drive to California from Texas, and also up to Chicago on a regular basis - and had 2 incredible sightings in the '90s....

apparently, there were a lot of green fireball sightings - (albeit, mostly limited to New Mexico and Colorado) the 1950s and '60s.

there's one video record of a green fireball.... and I got a chance to see that video a few years after my first UFO sighting....

my first UFO sighting.... was indeed your classic green fireball....

a friend and i were driving on I-35, maybe about 60 miles north of Ciudad Kansas (in 1996).

it flew at about 35 degrees above the horizon directly in front of us.... "Ahhhh..... JEEESUSSSS what the hell was that???"

it was about the size of 3 suns in the shape of a Good-n-Fruity. and extremely bright.... covered about 2/3 of the sky in maybe 2 or 3 seconds.

this f_cking thing lit up the ground in a large area perhaps as bright as what you'd get just a few moments before a full solar eclipse.


the other was somewhere between Ozona and Ft. Stockton on I-10 in the wee hours in 1997.

I was in the process of plopping down to sleep - alone - in the middle of nowhere when it happened.

that one was very frightening....
